Senate Candidate Adam Hasner: Occupy Protesters are "Thugs," "Anarchists" and "Anti-Semites"

Adam Hasner is banking heavily on Tea Party support in his quest to secure the Republican nomination to take on Bill Nelson in 2012, but in a fundraising letter today he unleashed a very angry rant against another group of political protesters. Hasner pulled no punches in attacking, and in many cases misrepresenting, protesters taking part in Occupy Wall Street and its off-shoot events here in Florida.

Here's Hasner's letter in full:
Instead of standing with the millions of middle class Americans who work hard, play by the rules, and want government to get off their backs and out of their way - President Obama is siding with a collection of left-wing activists, anarchists, and extremists who are occupying cities from New York to Miami.

The front lines of President Obama and the Democrats' new supposedly anti-capitalist army is manned by kids decked out in the latest designer logoed clothes and sporting the latest high-tech toys from some of the world's most successful corporations. They're joined by born-again communists and ranting anti-Semites who want to destroy Israel.

But behind the scenes, the Occupy Wall Street protests are just an excuse for the same old liberals and far-left radicals to wage class warfare. Backed, funded, and organized by people like George Soros, big labor unions, and the mainstream media, this is obviously a desperate bid to keep President Obama in office.

The hard-working Floridians I meet each and every day are struggling under the weight of the Obama administration's failed economic policies and its massive government spending. They don't complain, they don't disrupt other people's days, they just want to provide for themselves and their families. They want a government that understands them and stops making things so hard!

The majority of us do not support the demands of the "Occupy" movement. We just want smaller and smarter government based on conservative, Constitutional principles. We want a tax code that doesn't reward special interests, less government spending, and the opportunities to pursue our dreams in what is still the greatest country on Earth.

That's why I'm fighting to represent you in the U.S. Senate. If you agree with me, I hope you'll consider making a small donation so that we can continue our campaign to take back our country.

Send a message to the "Occupy" movement and their ally, President Obama, that he should be "on the side" of people who work hard and try to make America better, not the left-wing radicals in the streets.
It's ironic, however. that Hasner would attack the Occupy Wall Street movement so fiercely, considering he's so cozy with Tea Partiers. In what is so far the only professional polling done of protesters at Zuccotti Park near Wall Street, 35 percent say they hope that the Occupy movement influences "the Democratic Party the way the Tea Party has influenced the GOP." Only small percentages are in favor of things like anarchy or socialism. Sort of like how only small percentages of Republicans voters are supporting Hasner at the moment.

As for Hasner's claims of antisemitism at OWS, the Anti-Defamation League says that such occurrences have been "incidental."
