Dwyane Wade Says Hearts Full of Hate Cost Heat NBA Championship

It's not exactly a secret that last season the Miami Heat were playing with a chip on their shoulder almost as big as LeBron's ego (we kid because we love). Now, Dwyane Wade is saying that the team's failure against Dallas in the NBA Championships can be chalked up to embracing the dark side.

Wade recently made the comments on Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski's SiriusXM radio program.

Via the AP:
In an interview with Mike Krzyzewski on the Duke coach's show on SiriusXM Radio, Wade says "we wanted to win to spite people" last season, the first where he had LeBron James and Chris Bosh as teammates.

Wade continued, "I believe that's the reason we didn't win a championship."
Wade says the team also "played off hatred."

Those emotions certainly are understandable giving the immense media and public scrutiny the team was under last season, but as anyone who's seen Star Wars knows crossing over to the dark side means failure.

As Yoda would say: "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering." And suffer this team did.

Of course, as fans, we know that to a certain degree players are playing for, well, themselves. Yet, we would like to see the team fueled not by the hatred of others but by their support from fans.

The reason they didn't win the championship is that the Mavs scored more points than they did in 4 of the 6 games.

No sh*t sherlock, did you figure that out all on your own?

point being, they didn't lose because of some esoteric intangible.  They lost because they were an inferior basketball team.

Yeah, most of us got your point. I suppose it's easier on the ego to say that you lost because of hate than it is to admit you were outplayed.
