Herman Cain Back on Top in Florida Polls, Somehow

Categories: Politicks

So, you thought news of Herman Cain's alleged sexual harassment past and his campaign's subsequent bungling attempt to react to the news would doom the pizza man's chance of winning the GOP nomination? Yeah, well, not in Florida at least. A new Rasmussen poll taken just yesterday shows that Cain has once again surged to the top of the heap in the Sunshine State.

Here's the results of the Ramussen poll of 788 Likely Republican Primary voters taken yesterday, November 9th:

  • Cain - 30 percent
  • Romney - 24 percent
  • Gingrich - 19 percent

No one else got more than 10 percent.

Not only are the numbers surprising after Cain's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week, but they're also the only recent major poll to show Cain on top in the state. Polls taken late last month showed Romney was still the Florida favorite.

This poll could be a statistical outlier. Or, you know, it is also very likely that Florida Republicans are just cray-cray, and support candidates based not on their merit but rather on how much they perceive the left to hate them. Which is fine for Democrats, because no polls show Cain having much of any chance at the moment to actually beat President Obama.

The media has yet to realize that Supporters of Herman Cain are STAUNCH!!! .He is so conservative,  so STRONGLY CHRISTIAN, and so likable that even Democrats such as myself like him and his message. Dr Martin Luther Kings Niece and family came out in STRONG Support for HIm!!! Herman Cain's message is in many was BETTER then the traditional republican message. Cain not only wants the rich to get richer, but he wants the poor at the very least to be able to have jobs to look for and get tax breaks. Americans aren't stupid. We KNOW what is being orchestrated agains Reverend Cain (he is an ordained baptist minister). Mr Cain also also wants to drastically simplify the tax code, leading to the eventual destruction of the IRS. An innocent man is being hung out to dry!!! WE will not stand for it.

Democrats for Herman Cain!!!

The right wing is not known for respecting human rights much less womens' rights; unless, of course, the human is a zygote.

I'm not sure if by "right wing" you mean republicans.  Actually it was republicans that passed the first two civil rights bills.  You might want to read some history of the democratic party.  They did some things that I won't repeat here.

Well, thanks for the advice Vicki but you assume way too much. I don't mean republican when I say right wing, though perhaps it would be more understandable to you if I had said extreme right wing. Those, yes, are typically republicans or libertarians.

It would appear that you Vicki need to brush up on history.  The Civil Rights Act of 1964 known as HR 7152 was introduced to the house by Emanuel Cellar a DEMOCRAT in 6/63 and signed into LAW by LBJ a DEMOCRAT in 7/64.  The Civil Rights Act of 1991 was just an expansion  It provided the right to trial by jury on discrimination cases and allowed for emotional distress damages while limiting the amount a jury could award.  The Republican party of the 60's is not the party of todays GOP.  Hell Lincoln was a republican, today's Republicans would have impeached Lincoln & Reagan sitting side by side.  The Republican party has turn into the party of shit, to put it mildly!  PS  I voted for Reagan, and visited with GHB when he came to FTL in 92...but then it was all downhill from "Read My Lips"

Hey, stupid! How's it hanging?

What you conveniently omit is that the Dixiecrats, the base of southern democrats who so opposed progressive legislation, left the democratic party to become the republican base.

Cellar was also strongly opposed to equal rights and feminism which is why he lost to a female republican. Man you libs sure know how to twist history.

Introduced by a committee that included Emanuel Cellar and it was fought by the democrats tooth and nail and LBJ signed it because he was war mongering in Vietnam and needed good publicity. Get your facts straight.
