Miami Gardens police were following a stolen car last night when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and began firing at a police cruiser. Police are now searching for the gunman, but have not released a description.

The incident occurred late last night near Northwest 158th Street and 22nd Avenue. Police spotted what they believed to be a stolen car and began following the vehicle. As the pursuit went on, one of the suspects in the passenger seat pulled out a gun and began shooting at the moving police vehicle.

The officer driving the vehicle and his partner were unharmed despite his cruiser being riddled with bullet holes. The officers did not return fire.

Police have since located the stolen car, but the suspects have not been found. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
