Not a good legal week for Miami Dolphins wide receivers of both past and present.

Former Dolphins player David Boston, who played with the team in 2004 and '05, was arrested last night for allegedly punching a woman so hard twice in the head he left a gash that required ten stitches to close.

Boston apparently was living in a Boca Raton home with an unidentified woman. She had been "just friends" with Boston for years, and he had been staying with her for six weeks. He apparently was planning on relocating to a nearby hotel.

She told police that the retired athlete downed both a bottle of wine and vodka. She alleges he also swallowed pills. The woman was nervous about his state, but still invited another woman over to "hang out" with her and Boston according to the Palm Beach Post

It's unknown what set Boston off, but it's alleged that Boston then attacked the second woman. He hit her twice in the head, and left a severe gash that required stitches.

The women told Boston they were going to call police, but the former NFL player ran off. He was eventually caught by police and charged with aggravated battery.

Boston's NFL career was relatively quiet, save for a lone Pro Bowl season with Arizona in 2001. He eventually left the NFL after testing positive for a substance banned by the league in 2007 while playing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
