Kids' Facebook Feud Leads to Florida Mom Threatening to Shoot Middle Schooler

​It's only natural for a parent to feel protective of their children, but 33-year-old Rayshell Lavone Smith of Orlando took it a bit too far. After her middle school-aged daughter got into a Facebook fight with a fellow classmate, Smith jumped into the online fray and threatened to put a gun in the mouth of the other girl and shoot her.

Smith's daughter had been fighting with another girl at the school for a few days over another student who had brought a knife to the Freedom Middle School in Orlando. In late November, Smith herself took to Facebook to make threats to the other girl.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

The quarrel continued for a few days until Smith got involved and sent the student a direct message on Nov. 23: "So you the [expletive] messing with my girls..."

Smith said she would put a gun in the student's mouth and "I will see you when school gets in," the message said, according to the arrest affidavit.

Smith, we should add, is a convicted felon who has spent time in jail and has been previously charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The other girl let a school resource's officer know about the threats, and police began securing the campus to make sure Smith would not show up at school to make good on her threats.

Smith was eventually arrested on charges of making written death threats. She's since bonded out of jail.
