Chicago Bears Could Poach Hurricanes Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch

Could the Miami Hurricanes soon be on the hunt for its sixth offensive coordinator since 2005? Quite possibly if the Chicago Bears pursue current OC Jedd Fisch. The team is looking for a new passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach.

Fisch completed his first season with the Hurricanes but has a history on NFL sidelines. He left a position as the QB coach with the Seattle Seahawks to take the OC job under Al Golden, and many fans give his offense credit for any highlights in the past season.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Fisch is one of two candidates currently in the mix for the Bears job. Interestingly, the other candidate is Jeremy Bates, who was the offensive coordinator while Fisch was with Seattle.

One has to wonder though if Fisch would really go back to the NFL for a job at a mediocre team after having originally come to Coral Gables from a similar job at a similarly mediocre pro team. Then again, he took the job before all that Nevin Shapiro nonsense broke.

It should be noted that Fisch has some history with Bears QB Jay Cutler. He coached the Denver Broncos wide receivers in 2007 while Cutler was was with the team.
