On Saturday, Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin was interviewing for the head coaching position with the Miami Dolphins. On Sunday, his 21-year-old son Michael Philbin was reported missing. Yesterday, police found a body in an icy river in Wisconsin. According to ESPN,  police today plan to confirm that the body belonged to Michael.

The elder Philbin has been with the Green Bay Packers since 2003 and has served as offensive coordinator since 2007. His star was on the rise as the Packers entered the playoffs as the top seed in the NFC and came just shy of posting a perfect regular season record. It was no surprise then Stephen Ross came calling to interview Philbin for the Dolphin's head coaching position. As he only interviewed this weekend, it's unclear how impressed Ross was with Philbin, but some thought he might have been a better candidate than Jeff Fisher.

Though, at the moment Philbin's mind certainly isn't on his professional future.

Michael, a student at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, was reported missing on Sunday. A man who worked at a nearby business claims he heard a man calling for help at 2:30 a.m. from the icy Fox River. Authorities searched the river on Sunday, and finally turned up a body on Monday afternoon. ESPN says the body has been identified as Michael's.

At this point it is unclear when Philbin will return to his duties with the Packers, let alone continuing to pursue any opportunities he may have had elsewhere.
