With John Gruden and Bill Cowher expected to stay off the NFL sidelines for at least another season, that leaves Jeff Fisher as just about the only experienced and somewhat proven former head coach up for grabs this offseason, and the Dolphins are expected to interview the former Tennessee Titans coach sometime this week.

The 'Fins have announced that they've already interviewed interim head coach Todd Bowles for the job, but despite going a respectable 2-1 in his three games at the helm, it's expected that his interview may just be to satisfy the NFL's Rooney Rule.

Fisher, who spent 16 years with the Titans/Oilers, went 147-126 with that team, but only made it to the big game once when he lost the Super Bowl in 1999. Regardless, he's expected to be a hot commodity in the off season with five teams looking for new coaches.

Though, several reports indicate that Fisher wants to land at a team that has already figured out its quarterback situation. Miami hasn't really had a handle on its quarterback situation since the last time Fisher made it to the Super Bowl.

NFL.com also interestingly reports that Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland may be let go soon and that former Chiefs GM Carl Peterson will take a major role in the front office.
