Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez says his country will close its consulate in Miami. The news comes after a Venezuelan diplomat headquartered in Miami was expelled by the state department earlier this week for her alleged role in a cyber-terrorism plot against the United States.

Acosta Noguera, Venezuela's consul general in Miami, was booted out of the country after Univisión aired an audiotape. She is alleged to be heard on the tape asking a Mexican computer hacker for the access codes to nuclear facilities in the United States.

South Florida has the largest Venezuelan population in the United States, with the city of Doral having the single largest concentrated population. Eleven percent of Doral citizens were born in Venezuela.
