Jeff Fisher Picks Rams Over Dolphins

Categories: Sports
After a diva-like and dramatic decision period that a so-so coach really didn't deserve, Jeff Fisher has decided he'll be the coach of the Los Angeles St. Louis Rams instead of the Miami Dolphinsnext season . This, of course, means the Dolphins' search for a new coach is basically back to square one.

Fisher spent 16 years with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans and racked up a just slightly better than mediocre .542 record. It was perhaps a sign of the dearth of decent coaching options available at the moment that Fisher became the most sought after coach this off season.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross was said to be prepared to spend whatever it took to land Fisher, but The Miami Herald reports that Fisher wanted more power over the overall organization than Ross was willing to give him. Fisher wanted total control of football power and the ability to veto the general manager, currently Jeff Ireland for the Dolphins, on all decisions.

So what does this mean for the Dolphins? They've already interviewed their interim head coach Todd Bowles (though the Raiders are showing interest), Green Bay offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, Cincinnati defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and Chicago special teams coordinator Dave Toub. Though, that list will almost surely expand.

The Daaaaafins are a joke. Ross is the butt of that joke. Have another whiskey Ireland.

Fisher is barely above mediocre. He's like the last girl in the bar at 4 AM.  Sure looks good when she's the only one, it's dark, and you're desperate to hook up.  Glad he passed.
