Pigs From Naked Artist's Basel Performance Neglected By Gallery, Activist Says UPDATED

Miru Kim and the pigs from her Art Basel installation "The Pig That Therefore I Am."
It seemed like a story fit for Disney. An intrepid and beautiful young artist approaches a local gallery with an outrageous idea: spend five days butt naked in a pen with two piglets to raise awareness about animal rights and save the creatures from a nasty death in an illegal Hialeah slaughter farm. Together, they save the pigs, make headlines -- if not serious cash -- and find a comfy home for the animals. Cue the credits.

But according to animal activist Ana Campos, Miru Kim's much celebrated Art Basel performance has a filthy underbelly: art gallery Primary Flight ignored advice on how to take care of the pigs, neglected their health, and left them on a tiny Little Haiti farm taped up inside a cardboard box. The gallery didn't even donate the funds it promised to take care of them, she alleges.

"When I saw them, they had pneumonia and their ribs were sticking out," Campos says. "Primary Flight got a boatload of money and a boatload of attention... but the back-story is not so pretty."

UPDATE: "I am still not sure about why the animal rights activists are so upset," Kim told Riptide in an email. Read below for her full response.

The gallery's owners did not return Riptide's calls to comment on Campos' accusations. When we hear back, we'll update the post.

Campos, a longtime Miami animal rights activist, says she first learned about Kim's proposed performance piece from a friend in late November. She contacted the artist -- known for taking naked photos of herself in odd places -- and asked her not use the pigs.

Kim went ahead with her plans, but assured Campos that she had asked Primary Flight to find the pigs a sanctuary after Art Basel.

"I know she had good intentions," Campos says of Kim, who couldn't be contacted. "She cares about the pigs."

Kim admits that she had been contacted by Campos before the show, but called it "an aggressive long email."

"A stranger sent an offensive email to me," Kim said. "Her message was very off-putting, and all I could do was respond to her that the pigs were coming from a slaughterhouse and afterwards they will not be killed, rather be taken care of. I think most normal people would have ignored her first message."

Campos says she also tried to warn the Design District gallery not to give the pigs away to just anyone, but her emails went unanswered. When she finally asked co-owner Chris Oh in person, she was assured Primary Flight would take them to a sanctuary in Little Haiti, she says.

Instead, Campos alleges, the pigs were sealed up in cardboard boxes and dropped off at the tiny, one-acre Earth 'N' Us Farm at NE 76th Street and First Avenue on December 5. The farm's owner, Ray Chasser, says someone from Primary Flight said the gallery would pay him $8,000 to take care of the pigs.

But things went sour in a hurry, according to Chasser.

"One was sick when it came here," says Chasser. "It wouldn't eat, wouldn't get up." When he complained, he says the gallery initially denied it.

One of the sick pigs
"Then another guy [from the gallery] said, 'Oh yeah, they are sick. Here are some suppositories,'" says Chasser. "But there ain't no way that you're going to give those pigs suppositories. I'm not. When I tried, one threw me on the ground."

The pigs started hacking and coughing. They grew thinner by the day. (Another one of Chasser's pigs would later die from contamination.) And Primary Flight never paid the farm a dime, Chasser and Campos say.

Finally, a gallery liaison who had worked with Kim checked on the pigs. He sent Campos and email saying that there was a problem on December 19.

Campos rushed to Earth 'N' Us. Unlike a couple of weeks earlier, the pigs ribs were sticking out, she says. Their skin had started to turn gray.

"One of them had a waistline," she says. "Pigs aren't supposed to have waistlines."

She scrambled to find a home for them before finally settling on CJ Acres, a real animal sanctuary in Keystone Heights. Now she just needed to get them there.

She and some friends picked up the pigs on December 23. The next day, Christmas Eve, Campos loaded them into the back of her PT Cruiser and drove nine hours north. The sick pigs filled her car with shit, but Campos got them there alive.

pigs PT cruiser 2.jpg

CJ Acres employees unload the pigs from Campos's PT Cruiser
"I had a mask on at the very end because the smell was toxic," she says. "Parts of my car have been removed. I have to get it detailed. And it's always going to smell like a pig. But I have to accept that."

CJ Acres employees later told Campos that the pigs both had pneumonia. They are currently on triple antibiotics, but expected to recover. You can donate to the sanctuary here.

This still ain't a Disney fable, however. Campos is pissed at Chasser for accepting the pigs for money when she says he couldn't take proper care of them. And she says the ordeal proved her right to warn Kim not to use the animals in the first place.

But she reserves her real anger for Primary Flight.

"This is what happens when you exploit an animal for profit," she says. "It turns into a three ring circus. They had the opportunity to do the right thing and they just failed."

Chasser is harsher still.

"The whole thing was totally irresponsible," he says. "Putting them into this art exhibit was almost as exploitative as the slaughter house."

Kim, meanwhile, says she didn't know about the pigs' tribulations until recently.

"I was worried about the pigs so when I was back in NY I kept asking the gallery if they were ok," she said in an email to Riptide. "I was told that they were. And I pledged 1000 dollars out of my portion of the print sale for immediate care. All of sudden I got an email from the CJ Acres Sanctuary about the pigs being brought there, along with some threatening facebook messages from an animal rights activist (that wasn't ms. campos but her coworker)... I was all of sudden bombarded with how miserable the pigs were and such, and I clarified my situation with everyone."

"[I] hope we can all be happy that the pigs are now happy," Kim said. "There are hundreds of thousands of pigs being slaughtered everyday. My work, I hope, brought some consciousness to the audience about how close in essence human beings are to animals like pigs."

"I hope that the animal rights activists would focus more on educating masses and attacking large corporate farms that damage the environment and ignore human rights, rather than a small art gallery that put up a show that made people feel something about how animal we all are," she added.

It just amazes me how stupid and cruel people can be.  Those pigs will know someone made a difference for them, they're smart animals.

Ana -- it is amazing what you did .. the rescue.. the drive .. all to get the girls to a safe haven that they were promised from the beginning. It is such a sight to see the new found love for the grass, sun, fresh running water, fresh fruits, HUGH amount of love that these girls have already experienced. CJ Acres is a heart warming place..the place is thick with a caring atmosphere. It is really a fabulous sanctuary. I am grateful that the girls made it to CJ Acres. I am grateful that the owners are so caring and have hearts the size of Texas. God Bless all of you !

Why?  Why would you treat these innocent animals like they are trash?  This is extremely cruel. PLEASE stop this practice.  This is NOT art.

It continues to boggle my mind that people on here cannot comprehend that these animals were taken from a SLAUGHTERHOUSE. They, along with thousands of others, were bred solely for the purpose of being killed and consumed, or in many cases, killed and used in religious rituals. Perhaps the PF blog post was removed because it stated that the animals were at the farm in Miami, which they were removed from, so the blog was inaccurate. If you so-called "animal rights activists" had any balls, you'd be at those slaughterhouses in Hialeah and around Miami. There are dog fighters, cock fighters, and religious groups killing thousands of animals in Miami every single day for their own pleasure and/or religious beliefs (not even for food!) But those people don't mess around with skinny little vegans like you all. They will eat you for brunch if you mess with them. Yeah, better stick to harassing art gallerists, yeah, they're not too scary. Oh gosh, they ALLEGEDLY mistreated TWO pigs (that would have already been dead without them). Hang them already. YOU MORONS.

This does not surprise me. Animal abusers think they are above the law. Neglect, vandalism, charity fraud charges in florida are very serious.

Well I have to say I'm stunned at the gloating the gallery is doing by patting itself on the back for helping to save the pigs when in fact they caused these pigs to become sick. So sick in fact they could have died. How reckless and irresponsible of them. Shame on Primary Flight. I will have to rethink what artists I support if they turn up as partners of this gallery. Thank goodness for caring people in the community. I hate to think what would have happened if no one stepped forward to truly rescue them. Honestly what kind of shoddy unsavory nonsense are you people running in this gallery if you have naked women living with wild animals??? That's not what I call art.

Thank you Ana and everyone involved. The artists do not have the right to do anything they want in the name of art. The fact is they used these two pigs and the naked women living with them to make money. The women wasn't thrown out in a cardboard box !!! I don't have to tell Primary Flight what they have done, they know. I know and work for many influential artists that have booths at Art Basel. Primary Flight your name is mud. Primary flight is trying to cover their tracks from an animal abuse case. I was personally involved in this rescue. I have passed all the evidence to the proper authorities. In my 37 years in this business this has to be one of the worst cases to cross my desk and will be addressed. A national campaign has been launched advising all sponsors and contributors to sever all ties, and hold them all accountable.

Animallib24

It is reprehensible of the gallery who initially chose to exploit these highly intelligent animals to walk away from the bad situation they helped create.  In the past few weeks, Ana Campos has worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well being of these two animals. While Primary Flight was rolling around in cash, activists were scrambling to find a reputable sanctuary for the extremely sick pigs. As for Kim, if she was genuinely interested in raising awareness for animal rights, having people flock to see her naked body was not the way to do it.  Regardless, the facts remain the same. Primary Flight has not donated any money towards the care of these animals. They should also keep in mind, South Florida has a huge animal rights community who is ready and willing at any time to escalate tactics towards animal abusers. That could mean the beginning of a aggressive campaign for the gallery, including regular protesting and home protests at the homes of anyone responsible for creating this situation.  It is in the best interest of all parties involved to make the right choices from this point on.

This whole fiasco proves once again that pigs and other animals should not be raised and killed for food. These poor pigs are sentient beings who should not have been destined for slaughter in the first place.

I have never had any problem with her being naked, around the pigs, since she is in her natural state and the pigs are naked too and no sexual continuations- just art trying to make a statement (which I now found out is money over other Beings welfare), I would never have a problem if doing the art through Beings Rights conditions and without the food company prospering in any way.

Kim says the pigs she got were sick, she worried about them and called the gallery while she was in NY. Here is my response.

Then hello!; do not use them in your art*!! Now, I am 100% against this art (before I was 50-50- because the art was only the pigs in industry's cages and not transported right away to pig sanctuary), because her being able to use those pigs to make art and money is the biggest priority!!*- I am not against Kim doing the art with pigs, as long as she does it for The Pigs first (their health, safety and etc) and does not involve The Pigs being caged in The Food Factory; instead donate them to a specialized pig sanctuary (that can nurse them back to health) and select new pigs (with a vet examination to determine which should end-up a special sanctuary or in the art- as they are going through ONLY the process to another sanctuary for just letting pigs live out their lives in better environments).

Just FYI, I'm not a "girlfriend" or a part of the gallery. I do not speak for the gallery or the artist or the farm(s). I should probably not be commenting on this at all seeing as the gallerists are people I consider to be my friends and its really none of my business and I don't know the whole story except for what I have read here on MNT. I just don't like seeing my honest and hard working friends being referred to as "slick con-artists", "wealthy gallery owners" and animal abusers. You obviously do not know them AT ALL. But you don't care, Ana Campos, because you want your own publicity. And we can ALL understand that.

You're "Sooverit" and yet the only one continuing to post. LOL. What are you doing? You need more attention? To begin with for someone not involved, you seem to have a vested interest in this issue little bird. If you had any balls, put them on the table and use your real name.

I can not comprehend how you can not comprehend that buying two pigs for the sole purpose of exploiting them is not rescuing them. Then leaving them to die, is a criminal act.

December 5th - Chris Oh to me."Hi Ana, What is the name of the sanctuary that you have willing to take the pigs? We may be having doubts about our first plan...."

December 19th - Nick Cindric to me."Dear Ms. Campos, My name is Nick Cindric, and I'm writing you in reference to the two young pigs that were part of Miru Kim's performance during Art Basel. I understand that you might know of a farm in central Florida that would be interested in having them...."

They knew. And they waited.

If you could get the job done, why didn't you?

If they were ok, why was I contacted?

Buying pigs from a slaughterhouse, because you had a detailed list of measurements, sizes, colors and weights to complete is not rescuing. What you did after that is criminal. What you continue to do is embarrassing. Would you leave your dog or cat without food or medical care at a friend's house and then bitch when animal control fines you or the police arrest you for multiple animal neglect charges? If you don't understand why it was wrong of Primary Flight to leave those very sick pigs for 18 days without money for food at Earth-N-Us farm without medical care or food causing their rib cages to stick out is amazing. My advice to you is stay away from animals.

YOU PEOPLE ARE NUTS! PLAIN AND SIMPLE! the gallery obviously had the proper permits to put on a VERY PUBLIC art show. So, they get a couple pigs from a SLAUGHTERHOUSE. SLAUGHTERHOUSE. SLAUGHTERHOUSE. The pigs spend a couple days in a gallery, and are then released to a small local farm, which turned out to be probably too small and incapable of caring for the pigs. Then they reach out to a "local activist" for help and now this? WOW. you people are very strange.

I know them as well and have for a couple years and wouldn't say it's that far off. Their gallery is privately funded by at least someone who can afford to privately fund them and there are definitely some slick,or not so slick, con-artists in house. Give Nick Cindric a search on MNT and take a look at how his Rocket Projects gallery went under. There are a few other people over there that could likely consider the con-artist allegation complimentary to their cultural ideals and aspirations.

Logan (which isn't your real name) is this about me or the pigs? Just wondering. Because my friends and I actually rescued them and I don't see you dealing well with that. I'm not sure why you think this is about me and continue to talk about me. It's sad that you feel it is more important to defend a group of people who knowingly allowed these animals to deteriorate and suffer with pneumonia. That your only problem here is me is interesting. Your only issue with this whole problem is me? Sounds like sour grapes and a personal one. Your 'art gallery owning' friends screwed up and the pigs were dying. The only apology due is from them to everyone involved. Call Ray at Earth N Us yourself and ask him what happened. What your friends did to those pigs was unconscionable. If you go to a store and purchase an animal and then dump it on a poor friend promising them you would help take care of the animal's needs and then ignore the calls for help is that OK? We put together at least a dozen people to help with logistics and transporting sick pigs. Am I understanding you that the problem here is me? Your friends knew the animals were sick and did not help them. Period. Another animal died because of this. Do you have problem with that? When I was contacted on December 19th I wasn't even told the animals were sick. I was shocked to discover it after visiting them on December 21st. How easy do you think it was to see them and then help them? Have you ever rescued two sick 130 pound pigs, then drove 9 hours with them in your car because an art gallery didn't have a solid, appropriate plan in place before they purchased those pigs? I even helped raise money for them and they aren't even my pigs. This was Primary Flight's responsibility and all their fault. They need to fix this problem. We are all fortunate the pigs did not die due to their lack of goodwill and decision-making. That would have been extremely tragic.

What they did was wrong. My only request is that Primary Flight honor their commitment, accept responsibility for allowing the pigs to deteriorate and not receive food or medical care. But I won't hold my breath.

Here is the dirt on him..funny its a newtimes article as well

Scrubbed LaunchFiled under: ScannerIt seems Rocket Projects, the breakout local art space that shone during Art Basel 2003, crashed and no one noticed. The gallery's storefront at 3440 N. Miami Ave. has been shuttered since early summer, when owner Nick Cindric appears to have gone AWOL.One reason Cindric might have skipped out is his long line of jilted creditors. This past May, athletic apparel giant Adidas sued Cindric to recoup $50,000. The company contends it sent the money to Rocket Projects for a promotional event that never happened. The same month, Miami artist Christina Lei Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against him, claiming he owed her $17,000 in unpaid commission for several of her paintings sold at Rocket Projects.Cindric had already spent Adidas's $50,000 when the firm asked for the money back. He sent the shoe company a check that bounced, according to the lawsuit. Cindric never responded to the lawsuit, and Adidas won a default judgment of $212,000 (including punitive damages) against him in June. Adidas attorney Garry Alhalel says he has been unable to track down the gallery owner.Rodriquez alleges she discovered in late 2005 that Cindric had sold several of her pieces and did not inform her. When she confronted him, Cindric cut her four checks totaling $19,000. All were worthless. The artist is seeking $57,000 in damages, including the $17,000 owed to her plus attorney fees.Rodriguez left Rocket Projects in August 2005. By then, she says, the gallery's decline had already begun. "It was really discouraging," says Rodriguez, who had a longtime friendship with Cindric. "Rocket was an amazing place, and a lot of good things happened there."The art space was never the same after Cindric cut ties with his former business partner and gallery curator Nina Arias in 2004. Even then, rumors swirled that the gallery was behind on rent and in danger of having its utilities cut off. Artists complained they had not been paid for artwork sold through Rocket Projects.Reached via cell phone this week, Cindric declined to comment

Honor commitment to a liar and a psychotic self-proclaimed animal rights activist?  How many other pigs have you saved from slaughter besides these two pigs that you assume came with a $8000 dollar piggy bank??  I cant seem to find one other story about you saving anything.  I know for a fact that your whole story starts with a straight lie.  What does that say about you, the farm owner, and the people willing to listen and print your b.s.?  You need to get your story straight.  Those pigs were delivered separately.  I know nothing about any promises or how rich people might or might not be but I do know that the box I saw one pig (1 pig just to make it clear)get delivered  to that so called farm in was bigger than any box you could of possibly fit in the back of your PT cruiser.  The box was built to carry the pig in the back of a truck.  It had dirt and hay in it and the pig was not making much of fuss at all.  Then it was put in the pen with rest of the pigs.  It was obvious that the people moving the pigs knew more than you do about moving pigs. 12 friends and you could not get a truck.  HHMMMM......No friends with a truck, No family to visit on Christmas Eve, No clue of what the facts are ,  and No ability to communicate without making people think your crazy,  No ability to ask yourself how many pigs you saw get delivered, No ability to ask yourself how many promises you witnessed get made between parties, No ability to see that there are three people in the story that obviously were at fault ( four including the animal rights girl who cant seem to get a message across due to the way she chooses to deliver the message ).  No story printed about the pigs without your vicious attacks on people you dont know,  No story printed about the pigs without mentioning money and your heroic (not so thought out) rescue, now I get why you didnt have anywhere to be or visit on X-MAS EVE          once again..... get a life..........

Just seems like personally attacking people with rude name-calling and saying things you don't know about like how they made "boatloads" of money isn't really taking the high road. A real do-gooder does so without calling up the local paper and getting all excited to have your name mentioned. Just seems like you care a whole lot about people knowing about your actions, rather than really just being honestly invested for the welfare of the animals. My point is, that while mistakes may have been made, there were multiple parties involved, and NO ONE set out to harm any animals.

Wow. I'm really surprised to read all of this. I really hope that Primary Flight does the right thing.  :(

You say you saw paper work.  I am simply asking did you see the number $8000 dollars on the paper or didnt you.  I already can "assume" it didnt say $8000 or you would have already printed it in black and white.  All I am saying is if you want to convey a message cool then convey it without the assumptions and lies and you will probably get a better result.  Making assumptions to pick on one party is pig shit.  Miru says she had to leave town.  That gets her off the hook?  Give me a break?!   Then on the other side you are calling people rich that wear the same pair of dickeys every day.  Then you are calling those same people and only those people animal abusers. I am just saying that the way you went about sending a message was wrong and sounded more like extortion.  Then on top of all that you are demanding an apology and a thank you from people you just dragged through the mud.  They dont owe you an apology if anyone they owe the pigs an apology.  Shit all parties including your girl Ana and me owe the damm pigs an apology for the simple facts that we all knew where the pigs were going in the first place and we all knew though it was probably not the best place. You might get your apology but if I was part of that gallery I would also sue the pig shit out of all parties that clearly lied and played judge and jury on this one.

Contrary to what you are stating, I'm the guy with the TRUCK that rescued them from little haiti. Nick was standing right next to me that day and that he told me he felt so guilty for what primary did to these pigs that he wanted to help with the rescue as well. he was happy that we found a sanctuary that would take the pigs on so short notice and yes that was my christmas eve too. Nick had pleaded with his bosses, the gallery owners, that he was concerned about where they had placed the pigs and they weren't doing so well.

From what I understand, it was Chris Oh from Primary Flight who gave Nick, Ana's number after Nick told them they made a mistake leaving the pigs at little haiti and came to her and asked for her to help.. I had no idea of any financial arrangement until Ray told everyone that day we visited the pigs at the farm about what the gallery did to him with the pigs. whether Primary Flight pays $8,000 or $8 i really don't give a shit. It's a matter of principle. if all you did was drop off a pig in a box then everything you are saying is an assumption as well.

sorry to bust our bubble but i am not from the gallery. Maybe i was just a guy with a truck trying to help a pig too.  I will say it once again.  If you you start your story with a lie and a bucnh of assumptions of how much money people have or dont have it kinda makes it hard to see the real message.  Look how pissed you got about me making assumptions about how and why you moved the pigs.  So cant you see that your doing the same thing to this gallery that you have done nothing but make assumptions about.  Now imagine I put animal abuser next to your friends name in the paper on some assumptions i make and then how does that make you feel as the guy with the truck just trying to help some pigs????My point is that your friend is making a shitload of accusations and assumptions. How is anyone suppossed to believe your are nice people when you started your whole story with a lie.  the owner knows damm well that those pigs were not left in a box at his place.  So how am i suppossed to think he , you, and Ana dont have motives beyond helping the pigs.  The only known fact hear is with out ,miru-kim , the gallery, and a couple of people with trucks and harts and will to save an animal, the pigs would of been slaughtered a long time ago.

Obviously your from the gallery, and again your trying to make this personal , I will say this again ,just like ive said it a million times...I personally (that means me, I did this, got it)  Drove my Truck ( the one you said we didn't have) to meet NICK ( from your gallery who called Ana 2 weeks later and said to her he was worried about the pigs that gallery never paid the farm and that Ray couldn't keep them. This is a conversation I HAD WITH YOUR EMPLOYEE the day we met a Little Haiti farm ..He had an Envelope with paperwork to sign the pigs over to the new sanctuary Ms. Campos had found for them to go. After seeing the condition of the animals that day and their respiratory situation, it was a judgement call, I did not want to drive them in my truck in the wind for 9 hours to the sanctuary, I honestly don't think they would have made it , So we decided at the last minute to use Ana's car, that it would be in the best interest to the animals. ...thats what this is about , THE ANIMALS...cant you see that ?   whether we have family's on Christmas eve or a truck or the amount of pigs we rescued in the past is totally irrelevant...this year our Christmas was cleaning up your bullshit , and that's ok

You put two pigs in a display window with a nude woman and I'm crazy? You're funny, I'll give you that.

Listen carefully Darin, Aric, Chris, family members, Primary Flight Inc. paid for the pigs and as the owners of the pigs, it was your sole lack of integrity and deceitful business agreements that caused them to be neglected and no one else's. For that you should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm surprised to learn that some of your employees even have a long history of broken agreements and losing lawsuits after not paying artists. And I was contacted about another potential lawsuit coming from yet another artist you broke your agreements with. You have a track record of breaking your word. Unfortunately, it almost killed two animals. You were the #1 exhibit at Art Basel and bragged on your Facebook account 'We love pigs and pigs love us." Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. You still have not picked up the phone and spoken with CJ Acres Animal Sanctuary and inquired as to their health. As a start, ask how they are doing. Here's their website: cj-acres.com

I don't hate you. But I don't expect you to ever 'get' what you did was wrong. That would require a conscience. But I hope this serves as a lesson to you. It was your responsibility to make sure the animals you purchased, were fed and cared for. You failed on every level. You can't dump two extremely sick pigs that you own on someone, promise to provide for them, leave them without medical care or at least money for food. You owned them and were directly responsible for them. Why would a poor organic food grower in the heart of Little Haiti accept two sick pigs? You offered him $8,000 and bailed and you know you did. You do realize, that on December 4th and in front of a witness, Chris Oh even told me in person that you had collected donations on behalf of the pigs and one of your gallery supporters who lives in North Florida highly recommended Earth N Us farm to you and would also be making a donation. He told us they would be safe and financially, their needs would be met for life and not to worry. There was a witness.

If you could get the job done, then why didn't you?

If you could find a real animal sanctuary, then why didn't you?

What happened at Earth N Us Farm that caused you to reach out to me?

My help was and is free. However you did not disclose many facts. It's disgusting to learn that behind people's back you knew the pigs were sick and made an $8,000 offer to Earth N Us to provide long-term care to the pigs and then changed your minds. Everyone involved has done the right thing for these pigs except for Primary Flight.

Why did Chris Oh send me a message on December 5th saying you were having 'doubts' about where the animals were placed? Was it because you knew they were sick and were backing out of taking care of them and your $8,000 offer to him to take care of the pigs and his farm for life? It wasn't until December 19th that Nick Cindric emailed me directly asking me for help. You didn't even have the common human decency to tell me the animals were sick with pneumonia, coughing and hacking and let us be exposed to that! We rescued the two sick pigs from Earth N Us farms and placed them in two secure transport carriers in a truck. You might want to ask Nick, since he was there and we have it all on video. After listening to the sick pigs coughing, wheezing, hacking and seeing their ribs sticking out, it was decided that placing them in the back of a truck for 7 or 8 more hours would have killed them. And of course, you would suggest that. Unlike yourself, I've actually helped rescue animals before. I also involved many livestock experts every step of the way. You can insult me but there is nothing I would rather do more on Christmas Eve or any other day, than help an animal or help a person. You can attack me all you want, but at the end of the day, you almost killed them and should be ashamed of yourselves. Not only did I help you without hesitation rescue the animals you neglected, but my friends and I truly saved their lives and delivered them to a real sanctuary. Maybe that's why you removed your article on your site "Miru's Pigs Are Home." bragging that you had rescued and placed them safely at Earth N Us because they never were safe until my friends and I stepped in?

After you used and abused the people who helped these animals left and right, you still don't get it. Sadly you will never get it. I hope in the future you will be a responsible animal owner.

You owe everyone an apology. Say thank you. And go away. Shame on you.

Logan really? To begin with the New Times and Miami Herald contacted me. Not the other way round. You can ask the author yourself. Don't judge people. I've never referred to myself as a '"do gooder" and never would. I stepped in and I'm glad I did. In the future you might want to consider doing the same when you see a problem.

Once again, why aren't you showing one ounce of empathy for the pigs?

That's where you should put your energy at, not at me. When you purchase an animal you are fully responsible and no one else. Everyone else has stepped up to the plate except Primary Flight, your friends and they caused the problem. They were the #1 exhibit at Art Basel. The #1 exhibit! I saw all the article and accolades.

So for you or them to cry 'poor' or 'poor us' is a slap in the face to someone who really is poor. Ray at Earth N Us farm is. I'm not that far behind but yet I physically and financially contributed and kept my promise. Why aren't they doing the right thing for the animals they bought? It was left to regular folks to clean up their mess or the animals would have died. Whether 'Primary Flight' Gallery is poor (which they are not) and whether it is true or not, does not somehow release them from doing the right thing.
