Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen Comes Out Against SOPA, Too

Miami-area congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen has finally made her position on SOPA clear: she's against it. Unlike Marco Rubio, who changed his position on SOPA's Senate companion, PIPA, earlier today, Ros-Lehtinen had never been a co-sponsor of the bill.

Ros-Lehtinen released the following statement on the matter moments ago:
"Although we can all agree that is important to safeguard intellectual property against piracy, I do not believe the SOPA bill in its current form is the best approach.

As written, the SOPA bill has the potential to open a Pandora's Box; unintended consequences that could stifle free speech and inhibit innovation.

The goal should be to come up with the right piece of legislation that will protect access to the free flowing exchange of ideas that the internet provides, while also addressing the piracy issue.

I would urge my colleagues to take a moment to rethink the SOPA bill and to come up with a new piece of legislation that will meet this objective."
Seems like this day of internet protest is actually working out.

The positions of several other members of Florida's congressional delegation remain unknown, but Sen. Bill Nelson and Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz are both still listed as co-sponsors of the controversial bills in their respective houses.

SOPA must have been bad for Israel and good for the Communistas. Otherwise, Ileana Rosssssss-Lehtinen would not care.

I'm DISGUSTED that Sen. Nelson & Rep. Wasserman-Schultz support this bill and I trust Rubio about as far as I can throw the state capital building! Also you say Rubio changed his position on PIPA, but what about SOPA? Does he still support that?

PIPA is the Senate version of SOPA, which is the version of the bill in the House... and he's a Senator.
