Forbes Ranks Miami as America's Most Miserable City

• Its good to know wonderful people like you come running to Miami.  Kudos to you. :)

• I find it amusing that people actually take these absurd rankings seriously. For God's sake, last year's most miserable city fell to 11th place this time around. Anything that fluctuates that wildly in one year is an unsound measure. Lastly, the day I base a life decision on one of these rankings is the day I will actually leave Miami for Flint, expecting an improvement. Hehehe. 

• Why all the hate?  This city is what you make it, and apparently this site is attracting all the pessimists.  Go to the damn beach and drink some rum already.

• I've noticed a lot of hate from people who are outsiders.  A lot of the rude/ dumbass drivers, customers (I work in retail), etc are people who are not originally from here. As for everyone,  instead of bitching about it get involved in the community or at the very least get out and vote or protest or something!  Maybe we would all be less miserable.

• Boss, I feel your pain! I've been here since 1996 moving from one of the best cities (Boston) to this fucking shithole. I have hated it,HATED living in this place where nothing is done based on common sense or a basic level of grade school education. The only reason I'm not back in Boston is due to the whore of an X I was with....I'd be in the Framingham House of Corrections for a long....LONG stretch if I'd return.

• Which party has been governing Florida and Miami-Dade for over 14 years now? You've  got your head in the sand or up your ass?Geez, just another typical GOP fucking fuck....Get back to watching FAUX NEWS, jackass (your a damned liar to boot)...let the last living brain cell you have get extinguished like the other billion you;ve lost already.

• cities aren't miserable, people are. my only real complaint about living here is that i've been underemployed since about 2009. now watch me take my bikini clad behind and a vodka tonic down to the ocean to cry about it...

• Well actually the ones that float only come from Cuba. I have a problem when they take advantage of everything and sit on their lazy asses drinking their godamn cafecito instead of work. The third world country ones? Yeah- really sick of it myself and you nailed it! You know how many times I have to stay home or wait to be escorted to the market with someone because the fuckin wolf pack is out there. Like they've never seen a pair of tits before! They do act like animals.

• Damn true. Been trying to get out of this damned city if it wasn't for the job market I would be out of here. I'm even homeschooling my child after being bullied and touched. Oh did I mention she's only 6? I hate Miami because this never happened in the other cities we lived at outside of Florida.

• Let's see.  I lived in Boston for almost 5 years, Manhattan for 2 years, Minneapolis for 2 years, and Atlanta for 2 years and now Miami.  Of all those cities Miami has been BY FAR the worst.  Everyone says New Yorkers are so rude but they can't hold a candle to South Floridians!  None of those other cities made the Most Miserable List and for good reason.  New York may not be the most glamorous place to live but it is a hell of a lot easier to live in than Miami and I found it very enjoyable.  I moved down here from Boston and it makes me so sad.  Boston was such a great city and Miami is such a craphole.  That's why I am holding off on having children for now, because I refuse to raise my children in Miami!  So I have lived in other cities and been a part of the big city life and of all those Miami is the WORST.  The only place I could think that would be worse than Miami is Los Angeles, but even that isn't on the list!  The even funnier part to me is that West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale made that list too!  It looks like South Florida dominates when it comes to misery.  No surprise there! 

• When a majority of commissioners are so corrupt and/or so stupid they vote to give one private foreign business owner over $3 BILLION of the taxpayers money of course you will end up #1 for MOST MISERABLE CITY. Yes, the Marlins are owned by a foreign company.

• Lobbyists pour money into election campaigns so the most corrupt and most unethical candidates get elected. Erik Fresen? Marc Sarnoff? Bruno Barrerio? No wonder the majority of County employees are massively overpaid. There are no ethical politicians to say No. Excessive pay and benefits means there will be losses.

• Or an Irish one... to a drunk fallen on his side. (I didn't say he was Irish, did I?)

• It's amazing it took a whole hour for your liberal knee-jerk reaction. Using Fox? How lame; you end up showing the clout they have. You are free to stay aboard as the ship goes down; you might want to join a quartet on violin. How you cannot see the "iceberg" is baffling,

• How about the idiot politicians who voted to put two broke museums on waterfront Bicentennial Park? That will cost the taxpayers another $1.5 BILLION loss. Then add in the operating losses and no wonder Forbes rates Miami as miserable. Carlos Gimenez? Paying attention?

• With people electing idiots and schemers like Bruno Barrerio, Tomas Regalado, Marc Sarnoff, Manny Diaz and perhaps the biggest dope Carlos Alvarez of course Miami ranks #1 as the most miserable city. Stupid elected officials voting to give over $3 BILLION in tax money to the Canadian owned Marlins? Then voting to give the Marlins tax money to pay their rent? Hands down dumbest "deal" ever.

• Its the Miami Dade county flag, looks nothing like the Mexican national flag. It is similar to the Indian flag papa.

• That flag on the picture is a Mexican flag, there are not too many Mexicans over here, and I have seen many other cities worst than Miami. Miami is divided in neighborhoods, the writer better investigate which one are the poor and violent and which  one are rich and safer that a lot of cities over there.

• Miami has another great thing unique to it - its the ONLY city in the nation where the human animals run free OUT of their cages while the minority of good people stay inside of theirs. Thanks to the open doors to every third world desperado that can float up in a raft.

• ...just where else have you lived? Suggest you try a few other cities, and I don't mean for a couple of weeks, and then let me know. Miami is no worse than any other densely populated urban area in the country, and better than many.

• Oh please!  It is many other factors that make Miami miserable.  First of all, Miami has some of the rudest people I have ever met in my whole life!  It is shocking how disrespectful and uncaring these people are.  I am only down here for work, but I will tell you as soon as I get my transfer, I am out if here and I will NEVER come back to this hellhole.  Also, the insane commute times have to do partly with the fact that people down here are so careless and stupid that they are constantly getting in accidents that hold up many roads very often.  I have lived in quite a few big cities and I have never seen more accidents than in Miami.  Terrible customer service, the highest violent crime rate in the country (that's no surprise, wouldn't be shocked if Miramar is on that list too), horrible traffic, corrupt politicians, extermely rude people, one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, I could go on and on and on.  I am embarrased to say that I was born here, even if it was back in the early 1980s.  I have had people say to me, "Miami is your home?"  and I always tell them "Miami is where I live, it will never be my home!"  Oh and Anthony, too late!  Miami already is doomed and it doesnt have a prayer in hell! 

• Fox News?  Nope I just watch ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS & MSNBC then read the NY Times and Washington Post then how silly they are/

• I'm glad you took a five minute break from watching Fox News to write that little comment. It's good to take a breather every now and then.

• Funny how just about all the Ills that make Miami so Miserable is a Direct result of Liberal policies. High Crime, High Unemployment, Lengthy Daily commutes, High Foreclosure Rates. Miami needs a real Conservative Government or else we are doomed.
