Heat Beats Cavs, Kendrick Perkins is Mad at LeBron

Dwyane Wade led the way with 26 points, while LeBron James added 24 as the Miami Heat took down the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-91 last night.

The Heat will now embark on a five-road-games-in-seven-nights-palooza beginning in Orlando tonight and ending when all the players die from severe fatigue.

But the story of the day isn't so much the Heat beatdown of LeBron's old team, but of Oklahoma City Thunder center and perpetual scowler Kendrick Perkins taking umbrage with one of LeBron's tweets, even though Perkins swears he doesn't care.

Kendrick's beef starts with L.A. Clippers Blake Griffin's monstrosity of a dunk over the six-foot-ten Perkins a couple of weeks ago.

Perkins was recently asked about all the attention the dunk received, and he swears he doesn't care and that he's too much of a tough guy to be embarrassed by that kind of attention, even from other NBA players -- unless apparently it comes from LeBron James.
Shortly after the dunk, James tweeted, "Dunk of the Year! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!!! Wow! I guess I'm No. 2 now. Move over #6."

James was referring to his alley-oop dunk he threw down after jumping over Chicago Bulls guard John Lucas III a day earlier.

"You don't see Kobe [Bryant] tweeting," Perkins said. "You don't see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you're an elite player, plays like that don't excite you. At the end of the day, the guys who are playing for the right reasons who are trying to win championships are not worrying about one play.

"They also are not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No. 2. I just feel [James] is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him."
The Heat won't face the Thunder until March 25, which many observers will likely call an NBA Finals preview.

So until then, Perkins will have to take his scowl and mope about it to the media. Or he can take his complaints directly to the Heat...
