Ron Paul Supporters' Ten Best Comments On Our Anti-Paul Column

"Be nice, guys!"
Earlier today, Riptide's resident Tea Party trouble-maker Gus Garcia-Roberts took a strong stand against Libertarian hero Ron Paul -- as well as his allegedly "sandpapery man hands" -- while demanding that Paul "cease to exist (in politics.)"

To say that Paul's supporters were angry at Garcia-Roberts column would be to say that Newt Gingrich has some fidelity issues. The piece has drawn more than two hundred comments to date, not to mention a full voice mail box. Click through for the ten most well-reasoned rebuttals from the bowels of the Interwebs.

Honorable mentions:

Brenton:
I'm wondering do you just not know how to use the Internet, do you not know how to research, or are you just lying, putting words in people's mouths? ... I don't mean to be rude, but either you're dumb or you don't know how to research
NannyNannyBooBoo:
I applaud you for sucking magnificently at your job, sir.
DwightGood:
I suspect the author of this article is a terrorist, wishing death on Ron Paul like that.
Richard Shank:
G G-R, among a nation of fools, phones & idiots, you are one of the biggest. Just STFU.
guest:
Gus Garica-Roberts ... to say that Ron Paul is creepy, while in the presence of Romulan, or Newt the lizard is a direct example of Gus's stupidity.
Sashasessums:
Gotta hand it to you, in this world of unproportional numbers of dumbasses you are like the king dumbass.

Evan Rogers:
What in the flaming hell are you smoking? Instant ignore.
Oscar_DeGrouch:
Nice to see Miami Times started a gossip column.

Much ado about nothing; Ron Paul will NEVER be president. It's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Period. So don't waste your time arguing for or against.

To oppose Ron Paul is to oppose the US Constitution.

Too bad you didn't include the numerous polite , yet insightful, rebuttals to why your article was really out of line. What kind of reaction were you expecting anyway?????

From Ron Paul's Liberty Defined:

"No one person has perfect knowledge as to man's emergence on this earth. Yet almost everyone has a strong religious, scientific, or emotional opinion he or she considers gospel. The creationists frown on the evolutionists, and the evolutionists dismiss the creationists as kooky and unscientific. Lost in this struggle are those who look objectively at the scientific evidence for evolution without feeling any need to reject the notion of an all-powerful, all-knowing Creator. My personal view is that recognizing the validity of the evolutionary process does not support atheism nor should it diminish one's view about God and the universe."This is a debate about science and religion...and should not involve politicians at all."Took one second to Google.

Pretty hilarious comments. Deliciously ridiculous. As a side note on these comments, evolution = very likely; "global warming" = very likely a hoax.

"global warming" = very likely a hoax.

I guess you are smarter than the 99% of scientists studying the problem.

Dumbass war on science needs to end.

please show some sort of data that would back the claim that 99% of scientist believe in global warming. your comments have no basis. i think the dumbass war on reality needs to end. please learn about Earth's cycles so that you might not be so dangerously gullible. I guess all those cars the cave men where using aided in the end of the ice age. or maybe it was the vast amounts of pollutants from the many factories. there must have been some sort of mass production after the invention of the wheel. yeah yeah, these are what brought an end to the ice age. or for that matter, all the ice ages. Idiot.

Get over there!

You can spread the truth (unlike the Miami New Times)

Ron Paul really has denied evolution, called climate change a hoax, and wants to criminalize abortions?   What a nut, what else is there to know?   Anyone who supports those three stances is a dunce.

Ron Paul does not want to criminalize abortions. He favors overturning Roe v Wade because he does not believe the matter belongs in federal jurisdiction. Paul is personally opposed to abortions but favors allowing the states to address the matter individually per the 10th Amendment.

You know it's referred to as the "theory of evolution" for a reason, ya?

Not that I disagree with the theory, but if you're the one who can prove it, you should be writing about that, not this.

As far as global warming.. You're not aware of the emails?

HeAintSpecial

As far as global warming...you're not aware that 99% of climate scientists and nearly every major scientific group says it's indeed real?  I'll trust actual scientists over anyone else.  Also, look into what came of those BS emails, NOTHING.  Wake up and grow up.

And yes, Mike, it does affect me, it's common sense.  If he's nutty on those 3 major issues, he's not trustworthy.

Yeah, but these retards would rather hear a good lie over the truth any day.

Was it proven that leading scientists were manipulating data, or wasn't it? I'm smart enough to realize that all these cars will have an affect on the environment, but that doesn't mean scientist weren't lying to make their case more relevant.

Look up the definition of hoax.

Mike

I don't think you can make an arguement on any of the candidates (including Obama) being trustworthy.  Ron Paul's record over the last 3 or 4 decades has been pretty consistent.  I wouldn't care if a candidate thought the sky was purple, just as long as he did everything in his power to protect the constitution and my civil liberties.

Mike
Mike

Denying evolution and calling climate change a hoax doesn't harm you specifically.  So your point is completely moot.  He does, however want to repeal the NDAA and SOPA, which would directly affect you.

Let's start focusing on the real issues here.

riight, not fighting climate change won't hurt...the entire planet or anything...

Allowing Ron Paul and his lunatic supporters anywhere near the democratic process would be like appointing John Wayne Gacy head scoutmaster of a boy scout troop.
