Glenn Sharpe, Former UM Star and NFL Cornerback, Arrested on Murder Charges

Categories: Crime
Former NFL cornerback Glenn Sharpe -- a Miami native who starred for the University of Miami -- has been arrested in Georgia on charges that he murdered a man during an argument.

According to the DeKalb Sheriff's Office, Sharpe has been charged with the February 2 murder of Christopher Galloway. Sharpe is accused of shooting Galloway three times while the two were fighting in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

This isn't Sharpe's first run in with the law.

In 2010, he was charged with drug possession. According to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police discovered the antibiotic Metronidazole in a prescription bottle with several Vicodin pills during a speeding traffic stop.

In addition to the antibiotics and pain killers, a .9mm pistol was located near the pill bottle. He was charged with illegal possession of a narcotic and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.

Sharpe, who's 28, left UM for the NFL in 2008 and played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts; he won a Super Bowl ring while on the New Orleans Saints practice squad.
