Jeb Bush for Vice President? New Poll Suggests He Could Help More Than Rubio

Jeb Bush has spent the better part of the past four years not running for president and telling everyone about it, but what about a run for vice president? A new national poll shows that if leading candidate Mitt Romney picked Jebbers as his VP, it could make for a particularly strong ticket. An even stronger ticket than Romney-Rubio, surprisingly, especially among Latinos.

According to a new McClatchy-Marist poll, Obama leads Romney 46-44.

So what happens when you put the Obama-Biden ticket against the hypothetical Romney-Bush ticket? Well, what do you know, it's tied evenly at 47-47.

But Bush isn't the Florida politician we've heard touted as a potential VP for more than a year. That's Marco Rubio. Surprisingly, the Obama-Biden ticket would blow a Romney-Rubio ticket out of the water 49-44 percent.

Bush apparently has bigger pull among independents and, surprisingly, Latinos.

Forty-eight percent of independents says they would vote for Romney-Bush. Only 43 percent would vote for Romney-Rubio.

Only 46 percent of Latinos would vote vote for Romney-Rubio over Obama-Biden.

A whopping 57 percent of Latinos would vote for the GOP in the same matchup with Jeb Bush as the veep candidate.

That's pretty amazing given that Rubio himself is a Latino.

Of course, though Rubio has received lots of media attention, he's been on the national scene for only about two years. Pretty much every voter in America is familiar with the last name Bush.

absolutely not!! funny an ex cia agent said at the last minute they were going to push jeb bush up and i wouldn't trust bush sr. with a president elect with a bush as vp

The only way for another Bush to occupy the White House is through the VP.  I have to have faith that no sound minded human would entertain the idea of yet another Bush being elected. But who knows, the Bush's are backing Romney so they might as well be one in the same.

The definition of insanity is repeating the same action expecting a different outcome. And we elected him the second time, the whole world went "what the funk is going on with you people?"

Ahem. In this time of war  we are thankful that OUR leader isn't the spoiled son of a powerful politician from a wealthy oil family who is supported by religious fundamentalists, operates through clandestine organizations, has no respect for the democratic electoral process, bombs innocents, and uses war to deny people their civil liberties. Amen
