Sweetwater Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Cops Over Instagram, Facebook

This might be the first time anyone has ever been arrested as a result of using iPhone photosharing app Instagram. Though, this might be the first time anyone has threatened to kill police using the app.

Daniel Jesus La Rosa, 25, has been arrested after posting a picture with a message for cops in the small, suburban Miami-Dade town of Sweetwater: Die.

Rosa titled the picture "Diary of a Cop Killa" and then posted it to his Facebook through Instagram.

Sweetwater police only released the screencap of the comments above but not the actual picture. Though they say the picture, "was of a video game character wearing a gas mask pointing a gun in the foreground with two dead policemen in a streetscape the background. 'Diary of a cop Killa' was written over said picture."

So why is Rosa so mad at the Sweetwater PD? Well, he had recently broken up with his girlfriend and heard that she was now dating a member of the force.

Rosa was arrested at an unidentified school where he works and charged with corruption by threat against a public servant.

This is a proof that the Sweetwater Police Department is a waste of the citizens of Miami-Dade's tax money. They didnt investigate the case as any normal police department would do. A facebook post ending in LOL is not a legit threat to anyone's life. They make it seem like the guy was armed standing outside of the police station waiting for this so-called victim.

Sweetwater Police Department should be ashamed of themselves for pulling this through. But yet again this goes to show how they relentlesly continue to waste taxpayer dollars. Leave this poor guy alone who really has done nothing except forget to keep tabs on his FB privacy settings.

he is not insane in any way. his posts was not threatening in any way. furthermore, if you read the string you would realize the person he was responding to was also a police officer on another force. clearly, this was misconstrued on part of the sweetwater police department in order to harrass this young man and "teach him a lesson."

Don't the cops realize he pup "lol" after that? I think the Supreme Court upheld a ruling last year that if you start with "FML" or end in "lol" you are exempt from any wrongdoing as you are clearly just passive aggressive trolling for sympathy.
