Video: Rep. Bobby Rush Removed from House Floor for Wearing Hoodie for Trayvon Martin

Congressman Bobby Rush III, a black Democrat from Illinois, was escorted off of the floor of the House of Representatives the morning after donning a hoodie to show his support from deceased Florida teen Trayvon Martin. The moment came just a day after House Democrats held a forum to discuss the case which featured Martin's parents as guests.

Rep. Gregg Harper, a Republican from Mississippi was serving as acting speaker.

"Just because someone wears a hoodie, does not make them a hoodlum," said Rush as he removed his suit jacket and placed the hood from his sweatshirt over his head.

Harper began banging his gavel and has Rush escorted off the floor by security.

Harper cited a rule that forbids members from wearing hats on the floor. It's the same rule which prevents local congresswoman Frederica Wilson from donning her trademark hats.

In late 1999, Bobby Rush's a son was gunned down on the mean streets of Chicago. His 29-year-old son Huey was shot and killed in Rush’s district in Chicago. Rush's son's killer got 90 years in prison. At the time, Congressman Bobby Rush campaigned against then Illinois State Senator Barack Obama who was trying to unseat Rush. Obama lost that elections. Rush won but lost a son to senseless gun violence.

That's what i'm talking about! Stand up for what's right no matter what. Black, White, purple, green...no matter the color,right is right! This makes me wanna take a stand for even the smallest things going on in my life and in the world. Go Mr. Rush!

When you are DEEPLY hurt and feel that an INJUSTICE has been done that IS when you GO to our Father, God, AND if you are a Christian, His Son, Jesus, for His help, guidance AND MOST of all COMFORT, unless you are praising Him, too. From your comment, you are obviously NOT a spitual person.
