New arrest numbers are out from Miami Beach during the four-day Memorial Day weekend that now coincides with the loosely organized Urban Beach Week. Despite a beefed-upped police presence, cops made just 373 arrests this year compared to 431 last year.

So who was getting arrested? The vast majority were black males, but it's interesting to note that 35 percent of those arrested were Miami-Dade residents.

Random Pixels has the detailed arrest breakdown.

Of the 373 arrested,  253 were black males, or roughly 68 percent. Ninety-one were white males. Just 16 black females and 13 white females were cuffed.

Only 54 people were arrested for felonies, or roughly 14.5 percent. Remember that 68 percent of the arrests directly related to the Ultra Music Festival in March were for felonies. Of those felonies, 22 were related to drugs, two related to battery on a police officer, and 23 for other felonies.

Of the 319 misdemeanor arrests, 114 were drug related. Thirteen were for drinking in public, 14 were for DUI, and 24 were for disorderly intoxication. Twenty-eight were for disorderly conduct. Two were for simple battery, and another two for prostitution.

So while lots of people were drinking and doing drugs (not exactly an uncommon thing on Miami Beach), it appeared to be a relatively nonviolent affair this year.

Most of the people arrested hadn't traveled very far; 60 percent lived in Florida.

Twenty-four arrests were of Miami Beach residents. Another 106 were of residents from elsewhere in Miami-Dade, and 93 were of Floridians from outside Miami-Dade. Foreign visitors accounted for two arrests, and out-of-state visitors accounted for 126 arrests.

So many racist idiots here...not surprising, since it takes an uneducated idiot to be racist in the first place. If you don't believe me, maybe get on netflix and check out Jared Diamonds "Guns, Germs and Steel" which convincingly explains inequality in our world...anyway... consider what it said here: "So while lots of people were drinking and doing drugs (not exactly an uncommon thing on Miami Beach), it appeared to be a relatively nonviolent affair this year." Right, so basically everyone (black, white, asian, hispanic, whatever) was doing lots of drugs and drinking, and since black men are constantly stereotyped and targeted in our largely closet-racist society, this is who the cops were checking for shit like drugs. It wasn't mostly black men committing the crimes, it was just mostly black men actually getting arrested for committing crimes. Then you get moron racist dipshits like 90% of the people commenting here feeling like these statistics are somehow proof of their racist opinions.

You forgot to mention that there were only 74 arrests at Ultra. TOTAL 74 arrests. The media has become the biggest racists of all.

I guess an officer involved zombie shooting doesn't count in these statistics. It should read 252 black, 91 Spanish , And one zombie involved shooting.

Ugly negroes

Why would tourists, or anyone else, want to see ugly Negroes? Ick.

Of course, it is equally likely that cops pick and choose who to arrest, and on what charges. And that the politically-sensitive leadership told cops to take it easy this year, and let some things slide.Ultra, on the other hand, brings no election baggage, no consideration of shootings or riots, or expensive overtime, or front-page coverage of arrests.Something to think about...

The only categories listed on the report are "black, white, Asian", so I'm pretty sure that of those 91 "white males" and 13 "white females", very, very few of them will be what most white people would call "white."Meaning that most of them will look more like George Zimmerman than Tom Cruise.I really, really hate racial labeling when it's used to cover things up. What do you suppose those numbers would look like if "Hispanic" was one of the labels?"Black, white, Asian, Hispanic"... then how many "white" people would be on there? And, yes, I know: "HISPANIC IS NOT A RACE; IT'S AN ETHNICITY!!!" I've heard that 10,000 times in the Zimmerman case. But let's be honest: the only time Hispanics are "white" is in crime statistics. Not in anything "good", like award ceremonies, college graduation statistics; etc.

So after reading this, " Only 54 people were arrested for felonies, or roughly just 14.5 percent. Remember that 68 percent of the arrests directly related to the Ultra Music Festival in March were for felonies" it's clear that Ultra is more ghetto and unsafe seeing that 68% of arrests were felonies compared to 14.5% during MDW. I guess stay away from both disgusting and ghetto crowds during those times.

You guys should hire an editor or something.  Maybe read pieces over once or twice before publication.

"91 percent were white males."  Don't you mean 19%?

What I find most amazing in your comment is the implication behind it:  that there were generations behind you that somehow eventually led to your spawning.  The gene pool never ceases to amaze me.  You're pretty blissful, aren't you?
