Chris Bosh Out of the Olympics, Too

In a perfect world, the Team USA Olympics basketball squad would have just been some super version of the Miami Heat. In reality, this year LeBron James will be the only Heat member to travel to London. A day after Dwyane Wade announced he'd forgo the games to get surgery, Chris Bosh's agent tells the media that his client will skip the games to fully recover form his abdominal injuries.

Bosh sustained an abdominal injury during the playoffs, and sat out nine games before finally returning during the later part of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics. Though, if the championship wasn't on the line, Bosh may not have come back so soon.

"This injury was a pretty serious one," his agent Henry Thomas tells the Associated Press. "He was able to come back and play under the circumstances because he was trying to contribute to them winning a championship. There's still pain. There's still discomfort. And the real concern is if he doesn't rest and do the rehab associated with the injury, this could become sort of a chronic thing for him."

Like Wade's injury, this is good news for the Heat, in as much as hopefully the core of the team will all be rested and healthy for the start of next season, but not such good news for Team USA.

Sure, there's not exactly a shortage of talent on the team, but the possibility of seeing three players on the team who play together regularly and know each other's games in the Olympics is a hard one to see unfulfilled.
