Maybe it's the Marc Anthony effect. Maybe it hasn't sunk in yet that President Obama accidentally called our local NBA champs the "Heats." Or maybe, everyone in Florida can't stand our Sith Lord of a governor and -- in reaction -- is ever more ready to vote a Democrat back into office.

Either way, the latest Quinnipiac poll is out this morning, and it shows Obama still holding a lead over Mitt Romney in Florida and confirms that most of the Sunshine State isn't exactly fond of Scott.

The latest Q-poll surveyed 1,200 registered Florida voters between June 19 - 25, and found Obama gaining traction among Hispanic voters, women and independents and holding a sizable lead among African Americans.

The most interesting tidbit in the poll concerns immigration; the poll suggests that voters like Obama's executive order to let some young, undocumented Americans stay in the country.

In fact, 58 percent surveyed like the move, compared to just 38 percent against; 46 percent think, in general, that Obama would do a better job on immigration policy than Romney.

It's probably no coincidence, then, that Obama gained Hispanic votes in the latest poll. Of Hispanics surveyed, 56 percent plan to vote for Obama -- an uptick of nearly 10 percentage points from a similar poll last month.

Scott, meanwhile, may have just gotten a big boost from the courts on his voter purge, but the people actually casting ballots in the Sunshine State continue to disapprove of him.

A full 48 percent of voters say they don't like the job Scott is doing, with only 35 percent in favor.

The Bill Nelson-Connie Mack IV race for Senate, meanwhile, has inched into a statistical tie, with Nelson polling 41 percent to 40 percent for Mack.

romney i'm not concerned about the very poor mitt romney i am also unemployed too My sons are all adults and they've made decisions about their careers and they've chosen not to serve in the military and active duty and I respect their decision in that regard. One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I'd be a great president.
