Video of Rick Scott and Pam Bondi Learning Obamacare Was Struck Down, and Then Realizing It Wasn't

This is nothing even close to Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio) erupting into shrieks of joy upon learning of false reports that the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act was struck down by the Supreme Court. But in case you were wondering, here's video of Florida Governor Rick Scott and Attorney General Pam Bondi receiving the same false news during a cabinet meeting yesterday.

The moment was caught on tape by Bloomberg news reporter Michael Bender.

The two were sitting in a cabinet meeting when Bondi is handed an iPad presumably loaded with news that the mandate had been struck down. Both CNN and Fox News both erroneously reported the misunderstanding (though the Fox News report never made it online).

Bondi whispered to Scott about the news and shows him the iPad. We can't tell for sure, but it sounds like Bondi says, "They struck it down." Scott then calls for a five-minute break. Pam Bondi's mouth turns up in a big smile. Scott then leans over the iPad and discusses it with Bondi. Scott, along with CFO Jeff Atwater, head for the door, but Bondi stays behind. At one points Bondi says something to someone off camera something like, "It's on CNN's website."

Then another man, Bondi's chief-of-staff Carlos Muniz, bends over the iPad, smacks his hands against the dais, and presumably informs Bondi that indeed the mandate had not been struck down. Bondi asks, "What?"

After another few moments of discussion she too heads for the door.
