Miami-Dade Could Create Online Directory of Dangerous Dogs
County Commissioners Pepe Diaz And Sally Heyman Want To Expose Horrible Dog Owners
Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz's proposal would require that all dogs deemed dangerous pose for a mugshot, according to The Miami Herald. The photo would be uploaded online along with a short biography and the owner's address. The fines for people whose dogs injure, kill other animals, or are trained to fight would be doubled to $1,000. People who abuse animals would also be fined $1,000. Repeat offenders could be fined as much as $2,000 or more.
Dogs are considered dangerous in Miami-Dade County if they attack another animals or human without provocation and causes serious harms. Dogs that approach people "menacingly" are also considered dangerous.
