Miami International Airport Has Had More TSA Agents Fired for Theft Than Any Other Airport

Categories: Crime
The Transportation Security Administration was created in 2001 to keep us safe, but it turns out a handful of their employees are no better than common crooks. Since the TSA's creation nearly 400 employees have been fired after being accused of stealing from passengers, and Miami International Airport leads the way for the most theft-related firings.

ABC News reports that for the first time the TSA has released specific locations of agency-related thefts, after the network placed a Freedom of Informations Act request.

Turns out for theft-related firings between 2002 and December 2011, MIA ranks first, with 29 TSA employees fired after being accused of stealing from passengers.

MIA only ranked 12th for total passengers. New York City's JFK airport came in second with 27 firings, while Los Angeles' LAX was third with 24 firings. Both those airports service more passengers annually.
