The Miami Marlins have hired a new manager to replace the ousted Ozzie Guillen, and he's no stranger to the club. Mike Redmond made his major league debut as a catcher for the Marlins back in 1998 and played with the team through 2004. He'll now return as the team's new manager according to reports.

After his stint in Miami, Redmond went on to play for the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians and retired in 2010. He then moved into management, and coached the Dunedin Blue Jays, a Florida-based minor league affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

In two years of managing the team, the Blue Jays ended both seasons with a winning record and most recently won the North Division of the Florida State League.

According to Fox Sports, Redmond has signed a three-year contract. No word on how much its worth.

He'll no be the team's sixth manager in four years, and the 13th in the team's relatively short history.
