The scene of last night's shooting.
As art-bloated partiers wound down the last dregs of Basel Week on Sunday with a final stroll through Wynwood's murals and galleries, a horrific shooting went down just a few blocks south.

At 7:45 p.m. last night, a man and a pregnant woman were shot multiple times in front of a convenience shop at NW 17th Street and rushed to the hospital. The pregnant woman was reportedly hit in the head and stomach and left in critical condition.

Police released scant info on the crime last night, and Det. Willie Moreno tells Riptide that more news about the victims won't be available until detectives return this afternoon.

The woman, in her early 20s, and a man in his late teens were leaving the 17th Street Meat Market -- located about a half mile south from the heart of Wynwood's art district on NW Second Avenue -- when multiple shots rang out.

Police say they have little information or description about the shooter.

The woman's brother tells WSVN that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"My sister was walking out of the store," the unnamed brother tells the station. "She was behind the person they were aiming for. He was just selling drugs or whatever the case may be and they were trying to aim for him, but she happened to walk out of the store behind him and when they started shooting they shot her twice. Once in the head and once in the stomach which missed the baby."

We'll update this post when the police release more information on the crime.

Overtown is very fat from what it was 10 years ago not to mention they moved camillas house to a bigger facility. Whatever , I heart downtown Miami.

There's plenty of cops in the overytown area, mainly because there's a government building and a police station by the old arena .

Yes, but it was a related incident to Wynwood or Art Basel. We don't need a "reminder" this is Miami and just like any big city this happens. Where are the police in Overtown? Every time I go through there I don't see one, I just see unfortunate people wandering the streets.
