After selling off just about every player with anything resembling major league talent, the Miami Marlins have actually signed someone. Yes, they're bringing in two-time All-Star third baseman Placido Polanco, but the deal is only for a single season.

Polanco will replace Hanley Ramirez as the team's third baseman. The team had acquired third baseman Yunel Escobar in that infamous trade with the Blue Jays, but ended up trading him away, too.

According to MLB.com, Polanco has received a one-year $2.75 million deal. He was plagued by some back problems in 2012 while playing for the Tigers, but did play in 90 games.
