This Might Be Reggie Bush's Last Season with the Dolphins

Reggie Bush's contract with the Miami Dolphins is up at the end of the season, and so far there's no indication that the team has any interest in resigning the running back. Bush himself is now openly doubting that he'll be back in aqua and coral next year.

"It's a little uneasy and unsure, but at the same time, exciting, because you know there are opportunities out there," Bush tells The Miami Herald. "I'd love to stay here, but part of me says, 'Well, there's nothing been on the table quite yet.' I'm remaining optimistic."

Bush may be one of the better players on the squad, but this season that's not saying much.

Despite being only 27, there's already concerns about his age and durability. Though, there's a possibility he may be headed for his second 1,000 yard season in a row and has racked up five TDs this year, it's done little to pull the Dolphins out of the land of painful mediocrity.

Bush says he still thinks he can manage another five years in the league, but that probably won't be with the Fins unless the team ponies up the dough and shows a serious interest in him. So far, there's been no talks.

The Fins do have two other, younger running backs waiting in the wings in Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller. Neither is close to Bush's level yet, but do show signs of promise. It might not be the biggest loss if the team decides to let Bush slip away, just as long as they use that money better elsewhere.
