Donald Trump and Other Rich People Support Dolphins Asking Taxpayers for $200 Million

You know who really likes billionaire Dolphins owner Stephen Ross' idea to put taxpayers on the hook for half of the $400 million in renovations to Sun Life Stadium? Other rich people!

In fact, the Dolphins blasted out a press releases today touting the support of the Trump Brand. Because if there's anything people adore and respect, it's Donald Trump.

You might recall that Trump recently bought the Doral Golf Resort and Spa, and in addition to sticking his name in front of it, is currently renovating the resort.

"At Trump National, we understand the importance of world-class events as economic drivers. Steve Ross' commitment to modernize Sun Life Stadium -- while covering most of the construction costs -- is the right thing for Miami-Dade if we hope to continue attracting the types of sports and entertainment events that fill our hotels and restaurants, such as Super Bowls, college championship games, and international soccer matches," read the release.

The public support is the latest in hotel companies praising the renovations.

Philip Goldfarb, the CEO of the Fontainebleau Resort, also sent out a similarly worded press release in support of the project.

"Our support of these renovation plans not only keeps the facility competitive in attracting elite events, but is also a way for us to give back to a local venue that has brought in so much tourism business to our property over the years."

The Loews Miami Beach also lent their support. That's a company owned by New York billionaire Jonathan M. Tisch.

"South Florida cannot afford to miss out on opportunities to draw Super Bowls, college championship games and international events which not only increase hotel occupancies and tourism related expenditures, but also provide the destination with priceless global exposure," read the Loews' version of what is basically the same sentiment.

Donald Trump is a loser. Anybody can go bankrupt once, three times, means you are a loser, or is taken advantage of the system. I do not pay attention to losers!

Donald Trump is a hypocrite and an idiot. His clothing/tie line is all made in China. But nobody buys his stuff so few people know about it. That's why he can go on TV and talk with his big mouth /comb over

I never like TRUMP from the time way back in West Palm Beach where they built all these homes for low income families...then he became interestes in the properties fo rhis BIG TRUMP PLAZA up there and the people didn't wanna SELL their homes...next thing you know...Drugs and gangs started to move into the area....I wonder how someone can sleep at night knowing they used tyrannical methods to force people out of their homes and then the same drugdealers, dopers and all those lowlives, that I equate are all the same scum, whether rich or poor, to make you misery billions...Never liked him never will..he's just made money being a SLUM LORD in NYC.

I never agreed to this Marlin stadium. They win one championship and they ask for a million dollar stadium. Why ? "because they need shelter from the sun and rain". They should have taken that same money and enhanced the dolphins stadium instead of giving the marlins a stadium.

Why are you people complaining?? Its already been said that Miami Hotels are gonna be getting the bill. And in the end that really effects the tourist who stay at said hotel not the residents of Miami. And even if we had to pay you should be glad because NFL is the shit and it would get us the 50th Super Bowl among other awesome Bowl events. Stop being a cheap sob.

Spend some money on the team as an owner, try to get a couple successful seasons und your belt, as in making people want to go to the games for something exciting, then in a few years it probably wouldn't be as hard to get some renovations to the facility, but right now the way the team is you can't get people going to the games with what you got. They need Jacky Moon to get things going....

i say renovate sun life but only if the marlins get a winning season. because we are already flipping the bill for a new stadium that host a team that owner keeps trading players and dumping seasons. now the owner for the phins who doesnt try to spend money for players wants us to spend money for a stadium. sure when the phins cough up the dough for some quality players and play-off win, i say we do it. but till then it should be a no-go.

How much is Donald Trump's contribution? If he donates $400 million, give him naming rights so he can throw his name in front of that too. By the way, that release was definitely written for him because I can't imagine Trump even being knowledgeable of an international soccer match, let alone being able to name a European/S.American club team... any club team.

We foot the bill for the rich to enjoy new perks stadium.. We pay for what we can't even afford to enjoy even tho the dolphins themselves are anything but enjoyable
