Miami's High Temperatures Are About to Break a January Record

Categories: Category 5
Technically it is actually the middle of winter, but Miami has had temperatures in the 80s for 15 straight days now. That's matched a record for the most days above 80 degrees in winter since records have been kept, according to CBS Miami. The previous stretch was in 2002, and it's expected we'll likely break that record.

But, its unlikely the streak will extend much past that.

A cold front is expected to roll into town on Thursday night, and temperatures are expected to settle at 54 degrees that night. Some inland areas may even dip into the 40s. According to Weather Underground, the high for Friday is projected to be 72 degrees. Temperatures aren't expected to rise into the 80s again anytime soon. But lows in coastal areas won't dip below the 50s at night.

Which is, you know, pretty awesome and all. Nothing like a beach day in the middle of January. Just try not to let the depressing reality of global warming ruin it for you.
