There are two great myths about Cuba: that Fidel Castro is already dead, and that they actually have democracy. Well, yesterday Castro was spotted out in public for the first time in three years to cast a ballot in yesterday's general election. Because, you know, every vote is really important in Cuba.
It's apparently the first time Castro has voted publicly in a Cuban election since he passed power to his brother Raul in 2008. It was also his longest public appearance since 2010.
Castro chatted with school children and reporters, but noticeably was unable to walk without assistance. He held onto the hand of a bodyguard and was noticeably hunched over during the entire appearance.
Viva Cuba! Viva Fidel! The Cuban people have indeed made enormous sacrifices to maintain their independence and dignity from becoming a commercial puppet of the US. The comments here by those who do not respect or understand Castro or the Cuban experience demonstrate THEIR ignorance and warped values.
Hey Jesse - why don't you go take a plane into Cuba so you can suck Fidel's wrinkled BLEEP! Then you can preach the word all you want. Until then - you are just a MEOW! Hahahahaha!
Oye tu estupido @ Jesse nevel you are obviously an idiot that needs attention and has no idea what you speak of...unless ur castros bitch and get perks for sucking his ass...then I guess ur just giving ur side of a putasucias' story...other than that just stfu y vplp thank you and have a nice day
Fidel is not a vampire, America is the bloodsucking vampire that wants to suck the blood and resources of Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. Fidel Castro is a hero of the world's struggling peoples! Miami New Times is imperialist propaganda trash!
