West Edges Heat-Dominated East All-Stars 143-138 As Bosh Has a Game to Forget

Chris Paul and the West All-Stars edged a East team featuring three Miami Heat starters 143-138 Sunday Night. Even though LeBron and Wade combined for 40 points and were good for a few of their typical "Flying Death Machine" highlight finishes, it was Paul who snagged the game MVP with 20 points, 15 assists, and four steals, and Carmelo Anthony who led the East with 26.

Even worse, the third member of the "Big Three" went full Dan Uggla in this All-Star game, and you never want go full Uggla. Chris Bosh had a game to forget Sunday, opening shooting like he funneled a box of wine at an All-Star party the night before, starting with four (yes four) air balls -- finishing the game with just six points in 23 minutes. Two different times, a West player dribbled through his open legs for a score.

On the bright side, though, Bosh was able to take home the "Sears Shooting Stars Challenge" trophy, with the help of Dominque Wilkins of course. Wilkins sank two clutch half court shots to help the Team Bosh, East, New guy, Old guy, and a WNBA chick take home the crown in this ridiculous chaos of a contest. I'm not sure what's more amazing, the fact that the NBA got Sears to sponsor this event, or the fact that people still shop at Sears - either way TEAM BOSHY BEAR FTW!



While the Heat-heavy East came away losers, it was a nice showing for the Miami Heat franchise as a whole. Anytime an All-Star squad is being coached by your team's coach, and has three of your team's players starting, you know your season is going pretty damn well.

In the past, a successful Heat All-Star weekend was someone like Jason Kapono winning the three-point contest. Now, three-fifths of the All-Star team's starting unit is what you throw out there on a nightly basis. Yes, Heat fans, IT DOESNT SUCK to be us right now.

Now that the fantasy land stuff is over with, the Heat can get back to defending their championship, as they look for their eighth straight win Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks. LeBron also looks to add to what is an amazing stretch of seven 30 plus point, over 58 percent shooting games, while the team as a whole looks to pad its four-game lead over the Knicks for first place on the East.

Let the ass kickery continue, Miami!
