Acid Bomb Explodes in Miami Mailbox

A mailbox in Miami got an unwelcome delivery this morning. After receiving reports of an explosion, authorities discovered that an "acid bomb" had gone off in a mailbox.

At least it wasn't a bill! Amirite, fellow nonrich people? Bills. Those things just suck, huh?

Crap humor aside, the explosion happened just before 5 a.m. in the 5200 block of NW Fourth Street. The mailbox stands outside a duplex.

Authorities then discovered the explosion was caused by an "acid bomb," which amounted to some unknown but apparently explosive liquids in a plastic bottle.

Luckily, no one was hurt. A neighbor tells NBC Miami that she heard it might have been some sort of prank, but the fire department is taking it seriously.

"This took some time. This is not something as simple as, put some chemicals in a bottle; throw it in a mailbox," Miami Fire-Rescue spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll told the station. "If it is a prank, this was a very serious prank that could have hurt somebody."

Is this news really? Why is the fireman lying making something simple seem complicated.
