Evan Rodriguez was arrested multiple times as a college student, but when the Chicago Bears drafted him in 2012, they were under the impression they were getting a more mature player whose troubled days were behind him.

Well, Rodriguez was arrested last night on South Beach for disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence.

Rodriguez was booked this morning just after 5:30 and was arrested near Sixth Street and Alton Road on South Beach.

Apparently Rodriguez was cuffed after "impeding a DUI arrest," according to NBC Sports. It's unclear if Rodriguez or someone else was pulled over for a DUI.

His bail was set at $1,500, but as of this moment, Rodriguez is being held at the Pretrial Detention Center.

Rodriguez is in Miami to train during the offseason.

The tight end has a checkered past. While playing for West Virginia, he was arrested on felony assault charges stemming from an incident with a female resident assistant. Rodriguez then transferred to Temple, where he originally played under Al Golden and where was arrested for disorderly conduct.

''We all make mistakes,'' Rodriguez said told the Chicago Sun-Times after singing with the Bears. ''It's growing pains as long as you learn from your mistakes."
