Tim Tebow to Miami Dolphins? Sports Trolls Are Running Wild With It

Categories: Sports

All it took was for super-agent Drew Rosenhaus to go on WQAM yesterday and say he "wouldn't be shocked" if the Dolphins signed Tim Tebow because Stephen Ross is a "fan" to start the latest Tebowmania rumor. This despite the fact the Dolphins don't particularly need another quarterback, let alone a bad one.

Still, that bit of information made its way around Twitter yesterday, thanks in part to Fox Sports senior NFL writer Alex Marvez.

Of course, one really shouldn't be "shocked" by anything Dolphins owner Stephen Ross does, especially when it comes to perceived publicity. Fergie is a minority "owner" of the team. He let T-Pain remix the sacred Fins' theme song. We "wouldn't be shocked" if he signed Justin Bieber to the team for a day if he thought it would sell tickets, y'know?

Cue the sports content farms churning out articles on the rumor: Bleacher Report, Fansided, and Rant Sports. Even CBS Sports and the Sun-Sentinel took the bait.

Sure, Tebow understandingly is still a legend to a lot of Floridians, but the fan base isn't exactly concentrated here in South Florida. UF fandom overlaps more with Bucs or Jags territory. Plus, Ross is trying to get himself public financing for a new stadium, so maybe controversial signings guaranteed to generate fractured publicity are not the greatest idea right now.

Then again, if Tebow decides he's ready to accept a position other than QB and the team honestly thinks it could use him, so be it. He's just another football player at the end of the day.

What would it hurt? Someone to help the team WIN games. Also the cost would be really low.

I don't think the Dolphins are intelligent enough to get Tebow. He has already proven he can lead a team to the 2nd round of the playoffs and he is a playmaker.People that criticize Tebow don't know what they are talking about, they are just repeating what some morans on ESPN have said like Mel Kiper Jr.,you know the draft expert who never knows who the 1st pick of the draft is going to be and never played football in his life. His passing is not as bad as people are making it out to be and he will get better. He is not perfect but better than most of the players out there, especially on the Dolphin's roster.Haters let him play and he will prove you all wrong, just like he has done all his life. His faith, heart, and determination are too great for weak haters to understand and that is why he is one of the most popular players in the NFL.

Anyone with a brain knows this is an awful idea. First, he isn't a good QB. He might have won games in Denver but they were low scoring defensive games. He had nothing to do with most if any of those wins. Secondly and most important we have a 2nd year QB we do not want to create a media circus around him. Too many people like Tebow and not for football reasons. That is fine but those are the people that create the drama and most have ZERO knowledge about football and how bad of a QB he truly is. At this point its time for Tebow to either change positions or move on to whatever religious ventures and interest are out there for him.

Cancel season tickets if Tebow is in Miami, we will NEVER EVER, EVER go to another game.

Yeah we should sign him for goal line situations.

I heard it's too late, Tebow was apparently picked up by a Applebees in Secaucus. I believe they offerred him a position as a server if I'm not mistaken..... Even the Dolphins can't be this fkn stupid.

He could be the next Jim "Crash" Jensen!! Why not?

What do people see in Tannehill? Matt Moore is a better QB then he is. If Tebow agrees to be a special teams player, I say why not. He would make a good 2nd TE. He is very athletic and knows how to win.

Tebow has been bashed for wearing his faith on his sleeve, Jason Collins gets praised for being Gay. The world sucks and is backwards. TT may not be the perfect QB but he has alot of other assets that would help any team more so then drafting or signing all these drug dealing felons that most teams are filled with.

What is your real issue here?

As a running and blocking fullback, I would not mind seeing Tebow in a Fins uniform!

Tim Tebow is garbage no room for him on the MIAMI DOLPHINS!! Go home Tebow!!

Ian Eldredge

Tebow is garbage, he is never going to make it as a QB in the NFL. He needs to face the facts. Also, Tannehill is the man in Miami, plain and simple.

Every team in the NFL is denying being interested in Tim Tebow. The one team that should be running to him is the Jacksonville Jaguars! They would use the boost in attendance!

DISLIKE for even acknowledging it....

If he is coming as a back up RB or possibly a CB then I say OK. If they are bringing him in as some sort of competition to Tannehill then I say Hell no.....

Tebow would be a great addition to the team. He could be used as an all purpose player.

I think it would be wonderful! God Bless you Tebow wherever you go!

I would bring him in for his leadership and work ethic if he was ok with being a backup and playing in certain situations. But for him there are better options out there if someone will sign him and let him compete. Give him some presason gametime and see what happens.

I'm really excited about the phins this year, but if this happens, I may boycott.

Yes, TT would surprise everybody! I would trust him. Do not be foolish by stupid media massage.

Let's do the math....two million dollar salary...ten million in t-shirt and ticket sales...something else to talk about on the radio...seems like a good deal for the entertainment side of the NFL :)

I have nothing against Tebow and wish him the best, however I feel Miami is set with their QB situation with Tannehill and Moore. Besides, Miami doesn't run the wildcat anymore

Hell yeah, the fish haven't had a QB since Marino left.

We need a leader in that locker room

Tj Bryner

He's not the best QB, but he knows how to win, ugly wins, but wins none the less. What do we have to lose. It's not like we've had 17 other starting QB's since Marino left, oh yeah we did. Anybody remember Cleo Lemon, John Beck, etc. Give the dude a chance

Tootie, did you even watch a Dolphins game last year? might be the most ridiculous suggestion in this blog to say he didn't impress. might wanna watch a few of their games from last season... tebow sux and he needs to keep his propaganda in his home...

@Ian Eldredge Tebow is far from garbage, he may not fit the best NFL Quarterback mold, but he is far from garbage
