George Zimmerman Verdict: Not Guilty

Thumbnail image for zimmermanmurdernight.jpg
George Zimmerman has been found not guilty in the shooting death of Miami Gardens teenager Trayvon Martin. After sixteen hours of deliberation, including 12 today, the six-person, all-female, all-white jury delivered the unanimous decision at 10 p.m. tonight. Apparently the jury could not remove all reasonable doubt that Zimmerman was not acting in self defense.

George Zimmerman's GPS monitoring ankle device will be removed, and he will be allowed to leave court tonight as a free man.

Zimmerman, a 28-year-old self-appointed neighborhood watchman for a gated community in Sanford, Florida. Trayvon Martin, 17, was staying in the community while visiting his father and father's girlfriend.

He had walked to a nearby 7-Eleven to get a can of Arizona Iced Tea and Skittles. He was walking back to his father's girlfriend's home when Zimmerman started following him. The two got into some sort of confrontation and we may never know what happened that night, but Martin ended up dead.

This has nothing to do with light skinned or dark skinned. Every race has its bad people whether it be white, light skinned, or dark skinned. Honestly our court system fails with the right justice to be served. And us latinos aren't racist. Red necks and white people call us latinos the N word and wetback and spic, we are treated just like african americans. George Zimmerman is just a rotten apple from us Latino people. May Trayvon Martin rest in peace. And don't worry Karma is going to get back at George Zimmerman, because karma is gods work.

as for 'blaming the victim"...........well lets keep it real the victim here was only a kid SO WHERE WERE HIS PARENTS ? ? that's who i blame - the parents - period

i listen to the music i see the neighborhoods and i talk to the people under these circumstances and here are my suggestions to these PARENTS - get your kids to pull up their pants and fix their hats and know their friends and pay more attention to their interests and spend more time with them (why wasn't trayvon's dad with him walking around in a strange neighborhood ?) and get some music that makes learning and going to the library and community service a priority and act accordingly despite being in broken families with limited resources - no dishonor in being poor but what about being diligent and mindful of others in society ? why have kids if you cannot properly raise them and provide for their safety and basic needs ? did trayvons dad even KNOW WHERE HE WAS ? and WHO HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN WITH ?

in reading the other posts that go on about racism and BLACKs against WHITEs and so forth - i find those a waste of energy and borderline silly and immature

for the adults in the room, the verdict has been rendered = period

now if you want ANYthing at all to change then use your energy to oppose the legislation funded and lobbied by the NRA and others who are responsible for getting such laws enacted that provide these results

for example as for any CIVIL SUIT, the ability to yet defend zimmerman under the "stand your ground" law will negate any civil suit to proceed, as zimmerman shall be protected against any further legal prosecution, either CIVIL or CRIMINAL, so all crump is doing is desperately looking for another pay-day settlement without any chance of recovery and fomenting additional interest to sell t-shirts and himself to get free advertising and promotion in the media

no change is possible without confronting the N R A = period

manslaughter was the correct charge

this shows how the FLORIDA legislature enacts laws based on lobbying by the NRA and others that allow for these results

whenever someone is killed someone has to be held accountable and responsible - even in the act of self-defense - or else the killer also becomes judge and jury and executioner without any way of getting the dead persons side of the story

zimmerman was obviously responsible for his actions AND the NRA is responsible for the legislation that allows him to walk free of ANY responsibility in the death

zimmerman may if fact have been defending himself AND lethal action may have been warranted BUT there must be some sort of an obligation on zimmermans part under the law to take responsibilty and have accountability for killing someone regardless of the reason

FreeAtLastFreeAtLast

Justice has prevailed.Zimmerman is  a free man!!!! LIL Wayne and his fake gangster rap made Trayvon think he was a Gangster he was smoking weed skipping school and stealing and he got his punk ass shot dead!!! Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson the Race Pimps saw it as an opportunity to make quick money and made it a racial issue which it was not, (imagine if Al Sharpton marched and protested and began riots against Black on Black crimes but that would never happened no money invloved) .The only reason Trayvon mom is upset is that she can no longer claim Trayvon in her income tax she was a horrible parent .Everyday Black gangmembers kill innocent 5 6 year olds who have nothing to do with gangbanging and non of you ignorant MF care about it but as soon as a non Black kills a wanna be gangster in self defense you pull out the race card and act like your rights have been violated .please .African Americans are the most idiotic humans .

George Zimmerman Civil Rights Case Logical Next Step To Seek Justice For Trayvon

the family’s lawyer has already said that they will pursue a civil case against Zimmerman. Civil cases are weighed by the jury based on the preponderance of evidence and not beyond the shadow of the doubt — which explains why they can be more successful than criminal prosecutions. A notorious case would be O.J. Simpson who was acquitted of murder charges in criminal court but ordered to pay $33.5 million in civil court.

When an armed man can hunt down an unarmed teenager while on the telephone with a 911 dispatcher, kill the teen, and then walk away free, I think it’s fair to assume that there’s a serious problem with justice in the jurisdiction where the event took place.

The death of an innocent 17 yr old could so easily have been avoided if GZ did not have a cop fantasy and remained in his car.

Marissa Alexander had never been arrested before she fired a bullet at a wall one day in 2010 to scare off her husband when she felt he was threatening her. Nobody got hurt, but this month a northeast Florida judge was bound by state law to sentence her to 20 years in prison.

I am very sad and disappointed. I am concerned about Trayvon's family. I am an American abroad who still believes that there is more justice back home, but with this particular case am convinced that corruption and power permeate American society. Zimmerman will fall again since the evidence prooves that he is a criminal and has a disturbed mind and his daddy won't be able to protect him next time ...

Had Mr. Martin shot and killed Mr. Zimmerman under similar circumstances, Mr. Martin would have been quickly arrested by the Sanford Police Department and charged in the killing, without the benefit of the doubt” And vigorously questioned by police if he claimed self-defense. The SPD treated Zimmerman easier than Hannity treated him--few tough questions, few questions about the details. The prosecution was handed a weak case because of the shoddy work of the SPD.” Actually, they would have beat Trayvon to a pulp first! and claimed he was resisting arrest (had Trayvon shot & killed zimmerman)

Who calls the police just prior to committing 2nd degree murder? Someone who is known by the police and whose father is a retired judge would be confident that there would no consequence. And if it wasn't for the outrage by the public, he wouldn't be on trial. He had a dad who could tell him how to get away with stand your ground.

AND >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>why didn't trayvon CALL either of his PARENTs when he was running scared ? (instead of rachel jeantel ?)

where was the FATHER ?

why wasn't the MOTHER available ?

WHAT i see in these parents is a GUILTY verdict - not zimmermans guilt - but their OWN guilt for being such distant and unattached parents

JUST visit these neighborhoods YOURSELF and witness first-hand all the misdirected and throw-away kids loitering and mulling about with no proper parental direction - and there is the potential to either give them something POSITIVE to occupy their energy or else they have the potential to find themselves in trouble JUST LIKE ANY KID who has no parental guidance

@drakemallard -No matter how many time you say it, its still a lie.

he was being beaten badly, and only then while on the ground after for help, did the gun come out and he shot.

-self defense, is still self defense.

@drakemallardAn argument ensued, and Alexander said she feared for her life when she went out to her vehicle and retrieved the gun she legally owned. She came back inside and ended up firing a shot into the wall, which ricocheted into the ceiling.

Thats called attempted murder when you go to your vehicle to get your gun during an argument and then shoot and miss hitting the wall instead...thats a BIG difference.  Justice was served tonight!

http://www.actionnewsjax.com/content/topstories/story/State-Attorney-Angela-Corey-fires-staff-member/OmayVUpZJkOF2F2OgzIm2A.cspx

Action News has learned Kruidbos is accused of sabotaging state attorney's office property and disclosing confidential information back in March. Kruidbos testified last month saying he was concerned prosecutors did not turn over all the information to George Zimmerman's defense team, including pictures on Martin's phone.

When he testified last month, Kruidbos was already on paid administrative leave. Action News obtained video of Kruidbos with State Attorney Angela Corey on May 28. That was the same day, his attorney, Wes White, testified in a hearing for the Zimmerman case. White is also a former state attorney's office employee.

White told the court Kruidbos came to him with information about the case. White told the court he went to the defense team. At that point, they had no knowledge of it. In the video you can hear Corey saying Kruidbos could now be called in the case as a witness. "It just surprised me. Now I've got an employee that's also a witness for the defense in this case," said Corey. "OK, so go back to work," said Kruidbos. "I don't think that's appropriate. He has access to all of our stuff," said Managing Director Cheryl Peek. "Because you're a witness, I'll have to limit your access because I don't know how much of a witness you are. We'll put you somewhere, we'll keep working of course," said Corey.

Kruidbos' attorney tells Action News they refute the allegations in the letter and say Kruidbos has a clean work history with the office.

@drakemallard someone who didn't commit second degree murder dummy.  Obviously you aren't calling the police if you are going to commit a felony.  What does that tell you?  Traycon was the one who started the fight that led to his demise.

This class is a  Castle Law not a  stand your ground.

Castle law allows you to protect your property

lee sheriff's deputies charged Carey with second-degree murder, and prosecutors later charged him with manslaughter based on the facts of the case. But evidence at the scene - a broken window latch found in the house and blood and a hat found just outside the window - pointed to self-defense,

@guille.hernandez0@drakemallard

Here's what happened", Zimmerman first approached  Zimmerman pulled his gun and shot him. if you look at the picture, the big picture, I mean, it's plain as day! He lied about his finances and the existence of a second passport there is no reason to believe anything else hey say. repeatedly stated he had never heard of FL's Stand Your Ground Law or had any knowledge of this law. Well, well, well; the record now reflects zimmerman professor taught this materials in his class, the same class he said zimmerman was "one of my better students he got a A" To the extent that he had some knowledge of self defense, he would have been able to put together a story that made some sense,”

@drakemallard @guille.hernandez0 What happened was that he followed Trayvon, Trayvon suckker punched him like a coward and George protected himself.  Simple as that.  Obviously Trayvon was racist...creepy ass cracka...Trayvon was a suspicious ass nigga...whats so hard to see?
