A man leaving the Swinging Richards strip club in North Miami Beach claims he was beaten savagely by Miami-Dade Police officers and still doesn't know why. The attack was captured on cell phone video, and the friend who took the footage was also arrested.

According to CBS Miami, Tim Twilligear said he was leaving the club when he got into a tiff with a club employee. Twilligear says he put his hand up to keep the man away from him but claims the employee shoved him. Twilligear then pushed back.

That's when a police officer took out a Taser and stunned Twilligear. Twilligear then tried to get in his car and leave but claims the officer wouldn't let him leave. Twilligear says he walked out of the vehicle with his hands up, but the officer smashed his window and began beating him.

"Someone grabbed me by my head," Twilligear told the station. "I was punched in the head."

A friend named only as Victor began taking video of the beating. A cop tried to take the cell phone away, but Victor refused. Instead, he was arrested on charges of resisting arrest without violence.

Twilligear was also arrested and charged with resisting arrest with and without violence.

"I'm livid over it," Michael Grieco, Twilligear's attorney and Miami Beach city commission candidate, told CBS4. "I'm going to do everything in my power to protect my client to make sure justice is served."

Grieco plans to file a formal complaint today.

I had the same situation happen to me back in 2010 when a Miami Beach officer Arrested me leaving with a friend from a gay club in south beach. all because i was video taping the situation.

I was a passenger in a car with a friend and as we were leaving this club in sobe we got pulled over cause of a illegal u-turn. my friend got charged a DUI and as a passenger in the vehicle i had my cell phone out the window recording the incident for my friends protection and the officer then walked up to the passenger window of the car took the cell phone smashed it on the floor then pulled me out of the car and arrested me and charged me for resisting arrest without violence.

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT. I spent 2 nights in jail for what reason? Miami Beach City needs to stop that! lol  just figured i would share my story since it sounds all too familiar.

maybe we should have public beatings of police officers at major events or at malls and fairs? everyone would get around with their kids and families to watch and applaud.  south florida police departments hire too many uneducated lunatics... this could be the only way they could learn about what's right and what's wrong.

@Takuan Yamato even when you need them, they are still lunatics and only protect their own or those who they breed and feed... they are just as dangerous as criminals, especially in South Florida.
