Hurricanes Move Up to 15th in AP Poll (Game and Tailgate Video)
The Miami Hurricanes moved up to number 15 in the AP poll this morning, the best showing in recent history.
The University of Florida Gators, who they took down in exciting fashion Saturday -- after an epic Tailgate the likes of which probably won't be seen in Florida for years (see video), dropped from 12 to 18.
Saturday's game was a exciting roller coaster of a ride, but now the schedule turns easy with Savannah State, followed by the University of South
Central Florida and Georgia Tech. None of those teams are ranked, though Georgia Tech is a perennial powerhouse and in-state rivalries often drive the UCF USF bulls to greater things than they are usually able to do.
Savannah State is next Saturday. Suffice it to say that SS is short for their name. And they lost to a team called Troy this past weekend. We gott awhack these guys.
The UM win over Florida, while the coolest thing that has happened locally in recent times, wasn't particularly convincing. The defense played astoundingly well, causing multiple turnovers, but the offense only gained about 200 yards. The Gators, by comparison, covered more than 400, including a convincing touchdown drive toward the end of the game.
Also, the NCAA is likely to be coming after the University of Miami football program soon in the Nevin Shapiro scandal, so now is no time to get cocky.
So as not to be complete wet blankets, check out these delightful videos of Saturday.
