Charlie Crist's First Web Ad Aimed at Rick Scott: "It's Not Working"

If there's any doubt that former Republican governor Charlie Crist will challenge Rick Scott as a Democrat next year, Crist's new online ad released with the relaunch of his website should erase that uncertainty. It's not technically a campaign ad, because Crist hasn't officially announced his candidacy, but it sure seems like one. Without mentioning Scott by name, Crist directly attacks his policies and his campaign motto and hints at what his own platform might look like.

Crist begins by dusting off his old nickname, "the People's Governor." Then he reminds us he's the master centrist by aligning himself with key Democratic concerns without actually naming them. He bemoans "government on the fringes" (the Tea Party) and attacks "against full-time working people and their health care" (Obamacare), "against women and their doctors" (hey, he's now pro choice), and "even against the simple act of casting your vote" (Scott's voter purges and crackdown on early voting hours).

"It's not working," Crist declares.

Hmm, why does that line seem familiar? Oh, right.

Crist then asks you to leave comments on his new site telling him what he can do to help. We imagine the answer he's looking for is "run for governor."
