Marco Rubio To Decide on Possible Presidential Run Next Year

Categories: Politicks

Ever since Marco Rubio was first elected to the senate over four years ago he's carried out his career like a guy who may one day run for president, but he rarely openly talks about those ambitions. Well, at a Reuters Health Summit in Washington he openly addressed his future by saying that around this time next year he'll make a decision. That could include running for president, seeking reelection to the Senate ... or dropping out of politics altogether to head back to the private sector.

"For me, the choice in 2016 will be whether I run for re-election and serve in the Senate for another six years, whether the time has come to perhaps go to the private sector, or whether I want to run for another office like the presidency, because I feel passionately about some of the things our country needs to be doing," he told the audience.

Interestingly, around this time last year, Rubio made a similar statement.

"I really believe that if I do the best job I can in the Senate, then in a couple of years I'll be in a position to make a decision about whether I want to run for reelection, leave politics and give someone else a shot, or run for some other position," he said in a BuzzFeed interview.

Rubio has an appearance planned in New Hampshire in May. New Hampshire is the first state to hold a true presidential primary after Iowa's caucus. Rubio already had made an appearance in Iowa in 2012.

Of course, Rubio's presidential hopes have taken a hit since 2012 when he was strongly vetted to be Mitt Romney's running mate. According to Huffington Post's Pollster aggregate he currently sits in seventh place of all rumored 2016 Republican candidates. At this time last year he was considered the front runner.

Rand Paul + Jeb Bush = A viable Republican combo. Marco Rubio needs to be shipped back to Cuba, since he uses it as a crutch to attention whore.

They are hating on a politician they dont like but because you like him some how that makes him great. Juan Carlos nice logic there Lol. Its funny how your calling people stupid. "What to do you stupid people know about politics" whats wrong with this sentence Juan Carlos. Maybe you should stop writing sentences because you obviously know nothing about grammar and sentence structure.

what did this moron accomplish other than running up a tab on the taxpayers backs

A Cuban on the ballot means nothing to the general population of the
Hispanic community. Most Latin Americans don't like Cubans

The same Marco Rubio? That Talks Big but Fails to Deliver?

Spend thousands with GOP credit card

"Marco Rubio Lied About His Cuban Exile Immigrant Background"

as House speaker when he spent nearly $400,000 on office renovations.

Rubio's 2010 senate campaign was fined $8,000 by the Federal Elections Committee for receiving "prohibited, excessive and other impermissible contributions totaling $210,173.09."

Records show Rubio sent payments to American Express totaling $13,900 for his personal expenses during his tenure as House speaker. But those payments were not made monthly. He made no contributions to the bill during a six-month stretch in 2007, records show.

One committee paid relatives nearly $14,000 for what was incorrectly described to the IRS as "courier fees" and listed a nonexistent address for one of them. Another committee paid $5,700 to his wife, who was listed as the treasurer, much of it for "gas and meals."

Rubio's spending continued in 2005 when the Republican Party of Florida handed him a credit card to use at his own discretion. While serving as House speaker in 2007 and 2008, he charged thousands of dollars in restaurant tabs to the state party at the same time taxpayers were subsidizing his meals in Tallahassee.

Marco Rubio, was paying thousands to Bovo's firm absentee Helping Rubio cruise to a surprise win was a political consulting firm owned by Viviana Bovo, the wife of county Commissioner Esteban Bovo. She was paid $19,637 for "political strategy" and "consulting" by Rubio's campaign.

Will the Birthers Scrutinize Marco Rubio's U.S. Citizenship?

Rubio is a hypocrite he want his family to have health insurance but not the taxes payer. who pay his salary and health insurance the laugh is on the people who voted for him who might need and will benefit from the ACA.Poor Marco Rubio. He's only signing up for Obamacare and pocketing those ten grand because he's FORCED to, lol. What a terrible fate! Obamacare is worse than slavery, LOL

........................so WHY is he so great ?

this is why latin american "revolutions" ALL FAIL - the people put a few in power who have NO leadership skills

oH MARco ! is a great presidential candidate for some third-world hispanic country YES indeed

but this ken doll wanna-be is NO WAY qualified or educated or experienced or a stateman or a scholar or knowledgable to be president of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

don't BLAME us "morons" - even his own party, the G O P, passed him over as a VP candidate - which tells me if his OWN PARTY doesn't think he can do the second most powerful J O B who thinks he can do the top J O B ?

certainly ROMNEY nor KARL ROVE thought oH MARco ! had the right stuff for VP

frankd4
frankd4 topcommenter

.........actually IF you're for HILLARY 2016 then oH MARco ! is the candidate you want running because clinton will bury him nationally

the ken doll may have popularity among MIAMI hispanics but nationally the urban hispanics want to back a proven winner with real juice - it's no longer necessary to share relatives - those rich URBAN upper class upwardly mobile hispanics (want to access power and money and YALE) are nothing like the poverty stricken under-educated marielitos from MIAMI who elected oH MARco !

oH MARco ! couldn't run either NYC, chicago or LA and those major league operations would swamp him

FLORIDA is a nationally laughingstock of politics and our politicians are national clowns one rung above those from alabama and mississippi

i think the ken doll knows that he is a national joke

nitotheblue

yeah, we got it. you're libertarian.
