• When will he be put in jail? Is the Administration so blind? He didn't pay taxes on payroll. His employees were mostly illegal, paid in cash but taxes were withhold... What about other taxes???? He operated without a valid liquor license for 6 months, the main reason of the shutdown of Maison d'Azur with the unpaid rent....for the second time in South Beach but he did the same in New York and Montreal... How blind can be the investors involved with him? How blind can be the Administration? Honest people facing tough times are harassed when he is parading around and in New York... How many lives did he destroyed, employees, suppliers...?? He deserved to end up in jail or to be cornered at night,his balls cut off and shopped, shaved, his face slashed and filled up with salt and sugar to keep the scars for ever. The worst: he probably thinks that he is even better than Bernard Madoff!!! When in fact he is a coward crook...

• Why does this crook continuously open new restaurants without the city hassling him? Doesn't pay his employee's properly, or in this case, at all. Doesn't pay distributors, so mgt purchases liquor from other store outlets. Your not supposed to do that when your liquor license has been revoked or suspended! The restaurant being burglarized isn't the first time this occurs, it happened before and Maison closed down a few months after. Anyone need more insight to write a story about this salope? Get this putan off the beach!

• I have read the reviews already and Maison and the rest of the Frenchie's are starting to piss of the management, hotel owners and disturb the hotel guests at The Astor. The food is simply way to expensive and may I warn you that you should check your credit card statements after you visit. I have heard they like to overcharge their guests credit cards and even double charge. The music is way too loud and the new DJ sucks! What happened to the St Tropez guy? And lastly, the Maitre D is just creepy, being the DIVA that I am he just will not leave me alone but hey keep the champagne on the house coming because at $25 per glass I will keep smiling at him! LOL The place is just completely over rated. Not nearly as good as it used to be at the Angler's!!

• First of all let me say that the restaurant did not go out of business. Secondly, the food is in fact as good as everyone says it is. And third it is opening tomorrow at the Astor hotel so before anyone passes judgements you should go to the opening tomorrow.

• Maison D' Azur will be going into the Astor Hotel.

• psssst...Sagamore hotel..do your homework...Maison was sued by Anglers for failure to pay rent, was awarded a judgement for back rent and Maison failed to pay the money...Judge then issued an evictiion notice...Its all public information.....TBK

• this just in from South Florida MenuPages: And although many continue to report that Maison D'Azur is closed, owner Stephen Fortier hinted to The Herald yesterday that the acclaimed French restaurant is moving to ''a really high profile location.� We�d previously reported on Barton G�s talks with The Sagamore to take over Social�s space, but that deal fell through. We now have confirmation from multiple sources that Maison is taking over the space and planning for a fall opening. Ooh la la!

• Wow brad-nasty, you really ARE a fount of misinformation. "Best" awards are not "voted on" by "the local community." New Times does have a "readers poll," but Maison d'Azur didn't receive the readers poll vote. Awards are designated by staff, in the case of restaurants, almost always staff food writers. And seriously, no, I don't think a restaurant should have to have "staying power" to be voted "best." When we say "Best," it's shorthand for saying: "This is a place that we really think you should drop everything right now and go to," or, "This is a place that I dream of going back to again and again." What possible purpose would it serve for us to have some arbitrary rule -- well, they've only been open for 8 months, so gee, I guess we can't say this place is our favorite. What a load of hogwash.

• The restaurant was overpriced anyway and the service was inconsistent and snobby. My wife and teenage daughters stayed at the Anglers and had to wait over an hour for room service that was provided by Maison. The restaurant manager didn't even apologize and it certainly wasn't worth the price, wait and aggrivation. The restaurant was too loud as we stayed in an ultra cool duplex right next door to the restaurant. I asked the Matre di to turn it down a bit and after five minutes it was cranked up again. Finally, I spoke to the hotel Manager and she managed to tell the restaurant to keep it down - which they did. The Anglers is such a wonderful hotel and their service is fantastic. I'm sure that they will find a better restaurant for the amazing restaurant space. I highly reccomend The Anglers and hope they find a better restaurant who knows how to treat its guest as well as the Anglers staff treated us.

• It's too bad the restaurant left...it had a good - but short run. As far as the hotel is concerned...they are doing wonderfully. My wife and I stayed recently and the service and rooms and staff were beyond our expectations. I have friends in the restaurant industry who already expressed interest in taking over the Maison space...so I look forward to see what the Anglers folks do next. They run a classy operation and will undoubtely find the right operator for the property....Good luck Guys...Stevie

• Only in Miami: A restaurant deemed "Best Seafood Restaurant" is closed and out of biz during the same year in which it receives the award. I don't know what's more ridiculous--the morons that vote in New Times "Best of" polls or the fact that the New Times can publish this garbage as voted on by the local community. Serioulsy, don't you think that to earn a "best of" designation a restaurant should be in existence for at least a few years (and have some staying power)? What a joke.
