The Omni Area, Not Just For Crackheads Anymore

Ever ridden your bike north on Biscayne Boulevard at midnight and wondered what that place around 18th Street was doing that had all those people sitting outside eating, drinking, smiling and looking like they were having a good time? I have. I almost ran one of them over, so much for riding on the sidewalk. That place is called Bin 18 and it's increasingly popular. In a part of the city where nightlife dining activity has historically been concentrated at the Checkers at 17th, Bin 18 consistently fills tables.

You can check the tenacity of a drive-by foodie by whether they u-turn to get the name after they roll past and see the scene. If you haven't been there yet and you wanna check it out, or if you already know, but you like free wine, head over there tomorrow and every Thursday night for a free wine or beer tasting.

Tomorrow features what Wine Miami describes as "esoteric whites from off the beaten path." Try Gewurztraminer, Lawson's Dry Hill, Australia, Vouvray, Charles Bove, Loire Valley, France, Petite Chenin Blanc, Ken forester, South Africa.

Bin 18 is not undiscovered, it has been written about, people know it, but it still seems to operate somewhat under the radar and not quite get the credit it deserves for filling seats. Check it out. Call 786-235-7575 for more information or just show up at 1800 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami.
