Steak Dinner: $6.99

Pollo Tropical serves approximately 20 million customers annually. The weight of chicken that it sells each year equals 225 Boeing 737 jets, the weight of yuca is the same as that of 130 elephants. Which gets me to thinking: Maybe they should hire a cook with a lighter touch.

But the reason I am writing about Pollo Tropical is that starting today the chain is offering its new "lightly marinated" grilled churrasco steak dinner, at all Florida locations, for a mere $6.99. This deal comes with chimichurri sauce, choice of two sides, and a dinner roll. If you want the steak solo, it is just $5.99; with rice and beans, $6.39. Granted, Pollo Tropical ain't Prime 112, but seven bucks wouldn't cover your bottle of water at that steak house.
