• First off I wouldn't refer to my comment as Stefan..(aka Owner of Brasserie) is far from what I would say as blossoming as his flower will never bloom here in Miami-The Sherlock knows....Developers dont care about Banks they care about leaving their name in concrete-so Addison Mizner and Brother did pretty well as far as legacy is concerned, just like the Flagler, The Fisher, and all the pioneers that erected Miami-funny there isn't a Lapidus bldng. as it goes to show who has the egos..developers or architects as even here and now architects know their place-yet lets see how kind history will be to the Jeorge Perez's (Related), the Pedro Martin's (Terra Group) and Tibor Hollow (Florida east Coast The future is not looking too brite!!!

• Hm... Will the chef at The Water Club offer Bob Singer's Stuffed Buffalo Wings if and when the restaurant opens? Good luck to all the new places, but where are they going to find diners to fill all those empty seats? It sounds a little like when the bubble burst here in Palm Beach County in 1926. Addison Mizer and brother, Henry, kinda sort of caused a problem that closed the banks in Florida and Georgia. Too many cooks spoil the broth, will too many restaurants spoil the economy? • Thanks for the corrections Frodnesor. I was originally going to write about both Maison and Brasserie -- but as Sherlock notes, Brasserie isn't exactly blossoming quite yet; then I wrote down the wrong one. Plus Kobe did indeed debut more than 6 months ago. And I think we all pretty much are guessing that it's the expensive places that will go first -- which is why restaurants like La Cofradia are trying to redefine themselves as more casual operations.

• Maison d'Azur moved or should I say ran from the Angler's a few months ago after they failed there and moved to Astor after the failed Joley vacated.. The Brasserie d'Azur in midtown is still bare and with such a large space this group is in way over their head especially thinking midtown is a good location. (even more that this group can manage restaurants in Miami) The Anglers, now 660 at the Anglers is terrible as I had dinner there with the designer of the property and even he was astonished how poor the food was.

• This is not exactly crystal ball material, but I suspect that the higher-end places will be shuttering much sooner than the mid-market ones. BTW, there is no Brasserie d'Azur in the Astor; there is Maison d'Azur in the Astor (which just moved down the block from the Angler) and the same group is supposed to be opening a Brasserie d'Azur in <i>Midtown</i>. I'm also 99% sure Kobe Club opened well more than 6 months ago.

• Big Trouble in the Magic City as so many of these restaurants will be memories come christmas-as you have left off a few that are coming, (Norman, Michy at the Omphoy, and non are really worthy of anything worth mentioning anyway-which is really too bad, Perhaps we can send out invitations to some "real" chefs who we could lure down to open up places that revolve around food rather than hype-as thats all these names have in common Hype-and a very high Public Relations Debt...Lets forget about the PR and just make food that tastes good, is consisitent, and whereby the server doesnt treat you lke you owe them something-Heck why do you think Joe's continually ranks amongst the most lucrative restaurants in the country-would any of those listed even come close-Of all the chefs in town my hat goes off to Michaels as even with his staffing issues its the only place I know where everything I eat will be worth the money!!
