In Chef Allen's Kitchen
The legendary Chef Allen Susser, a James Beard Award recipient, South Florida culinary pioneer, originator of "New World Cuisine," author of more cookbooks than you can shake a fish at, and longtime Aventura Restaurateur is cooking up a special event series built for hard times.

This and every Friday until July 31 you are invited to participate in an interactive cooking class led by Chef Allen and his Chef De Cuisine Daniel Serfer. Best of all, it's FREE, and that includes menu and wine tastings.

Tomorrow's event teaches you how to cook Kyoto Sake Clams, and Seared Sashimi Tuna with Stir Fried Vegetables. Chef Allen told Short Order these are "items that are on our menu, but easy enough to do on your own at home, or at least get an appreciation for the techniques we use in our kitchen. It's gonna be a lotta fun, very interactive, we're gonna get people watching and getting out of the audience, asking questions, learning technique, we'll have a wine tasting of Goldwater Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, in the coming weeks maybe beer or vodka. Next week we'll have live music after the class. It's from 6 - 7 p.m., a little early, but we wanna make it easy to approach, kind of our quiet time, a good opportunity for people to jump right in."

Chef Allen's Modern Seafood Bistro is at 19088 NE 29th Avenue, Aventura. Call 305-935-2900 to RSVP or for more info log on to ChefAllens.com.
