| Burger Beast prays to the meat gods before diving into four pounds cow flesh. |
Saturday night in Hollywood at Quickie's Burgers & Wings, Miami's own Burger Beast attempted the restaurant's signature four-pound burger challenge. The bout was hyped in a Miami Herald Tropical Life cover story on the Beast, his blog, and the new webovision show he's doing on
generation-n.com.
The four-pound burger included meat, lettuce, tomatoes, ten slices of yellow American cheese, french fries, onions, and a loaf of Italian bread. Challengers have one hour to consume the $30 sandwich. Doing so gets their meal comped, picture on the wall, and a t-shirt. Before attempting the burger, contestants must sign a life-or-death waiver release form. Short Order's opinion on the burger? Too much bread and extraneous toppings, not enough meat.
The Burger Beast was unable to eat the four-pound Quickie Burger in an hour. What did he have to say about it? "It was good." Here are more pictures from the event.
