Top 5 New Candies: Chuao's Firecracker, Sour Patch Chillerz and Jitterbeans
It takes more than just a sugar to hit an epicure's sweet spot, so Short Order went in search of five new confections that have added layer of oomph, coupled with some degree of hmm, and the power to make one cry, "Yowza!" Bye-bye Snickers and Sweet Tarts-- we're all about these new sugary sensations.

Forget a French kiss on the Fourth of July; these Firecracker bars, truffles, and pods keep the crackle coming. They not only wrap your tongue with the flavor of rich, dark chocolate, but then they pack a punch with fiery chipotle and enough salt to make you tear up just a bit. 2. Tootsie Roll's Green Apple Caramel Pop
Thanks, Tootsie, for bringing a great classic back. Seriously, Short Order spent so much time licking these lollipops last week that our boyfriend got jealous.
(By the way, don't even bother to enter the contest for $50,000. only we truly know how many licks it takes to get to the center.)
3. Sour Patch Chillerz
Surely gobs of people out there will think these new chewy bits from Cadbury ought to just go right in the rubbish, but you'Il dig the tongue-tingling effect they provide after the sour-to-sweet transition ends. You can pick up Frozen Lemonade, Strawberry, Berry Punch, and Frosty Grape flavors at Target. Hey's better than NyQuil and chewable aspirin.
4. Funky-flavored Candy Corn
Did you notice that candy corn got all crazy this Halloween season? Zachary Confections offers huge bowls of those pointy little treats in Caramel Apple, Caramel, Raspberry, Tangerine and Cherry. The website says you can possibly find them up at Target and Wal-Mart, but I think I got mine in some dollar store.

As if you weren't hyper enough, Osmanium Candy Company thought it would be fun to sell you dark chocolate covered espresso beans in a hard candy shell providing a 600 mg hit of caffeine per box.
