• Why are you still writing for the New Times, there has to be a more competent person that would take your job. You treat this blog as your personal space where you can insult people as you wish, but I don't understand how a publication can allow these kind of comments coming from a staffer.

• HA @ all the parents/those with a stake in Luna that came here to comment. Dancing and singing elementary school students does sound pretty boring for those of us who aren't parents yet. He was being honest. But back to the food, at it's current pricing I don't see Luna competing with fairly nearby Andiamos. Also, note it's a delivery/takeout joint only. That should make it even cheaper.

• You are all way over reacting to a minor sarcasm that obviously no one gets. "On no, don't make fun of the children!" It's one (of the many) reasons I left Miami. Political correctness and righteousness at it's worst!!! "I have 12 university degrees and a very long CV so I am RIGHT!" Please... Oh, yeah, and food as art has ruined food, mostlyl. But then, in Miami it's all about the surface and not the substance... so it makes sense that this notion about food and poetry and art all tie in together to create a lot of crap that has nothing to do with creativity or passion or soul...just more stuff to throw into the over consumption vortex that no one seems to want to escape from. Blah...

• Lee- Are you sure you aren't in middle school, because you are definitely acting like it. When a news writer has to explain what he meant then he did not do a sufficient job communicating his message in the work. You are no Bob Norman, that's for sure. But keep trying, Little One, you may get there some day.

• This writer really needs to be fired. The problem is that he thinks he has a sense of humor, but that would require his writing to be funny. As any five-year-old can plainly see, it is not. It is simply mean-spirited. And ugly. And if I were his editor, he wouldn't last the day. If I were a parent of one of these kids, I would probably stop by his office on Monday to share a little 'joke' with him and his editor, as well.

• To all parents with kids at Miami Arts Charter: Your children are in the hands of lunatics, being taught by teachers who evidently don't know how to read and definitely don't have a sense of humor. For God's sake please, GET YOUR KIDS OUT OF THERE IMMEDIATELY if you care about them growing up intelligent, graceful people who can understand how to interpret a paragraph of writing. Firstly, for the morons above who keep writing that the pizza is good -- I did not in any way criticize the pizza. Still, I forgive you -- you probably went to the Miami Arts Charter, which is why you didn't catch that. Reading really can be tricky, especially if you're being taught to do so by those who can't properly read themselves! Jesus Jen, your comment was even dumber than the others -- you should be ashamed of yourself for joining in this choir of idiocy. Instead of donating your salary to buy things for kids to scrawl upon, please invest in a sense of humor for yourself and the small-minded staff at the Charter School. Really, the idea of such dumb, clueless, humorless people teaching middle schoolers is incredibly depressing.

• To my middle schoolers, I am so proud of you. Our team work on meeting deadlines on this project is impressive. Your creativity in bringing up the idea of pizza boxes as a surface for painting, being part of the project itself, also was great. Read the other critiques in our great newspapers in the area. Were looking for "Art Critics" not food critics. Again as were learning in class, the art of critique, some will say your art is good, some will say great, some will say not so good. These critics are experienced in the field of art. In Constructive Criticism, we realize we like our work and use critiques not as a put down , but something to build on to make our work even better. The food guy is just doing his job I guess. Good luck to him, now lets move on we have more creativity to do. YOU ROCK, Thanks parents for your fantastic support and the community as well. These students are so talented. Miami Arts Charter? Love my job, you sure know how to find talent.

• Ah come on don't get down on the little guy. After all, he has to make sure he gets noticed by writing nasty little things,that way he feels as though he won, because he got a responce. Then he gets a "thataboy" from his boss. The more responces the better he feels. I had the pizza, it is soooo good. Has a unique taste, different from the others, which are also good. As for the art and poetry, the students feel on top of the world, especially in such a fine arts community. It was just like back in the day, when my family used to watch me play soft ball. I knew that because mom and dad were there I was someday going to be in the world series of softball. Miami Arts Charter school, great work in our community once again. And to the students, nobody ever said that all art has to be on paper or canvas. Creativity is when you experiment on different surfaces. So lets go get a slice of great food, check out the art and for god sakes get a better news paper to read, then we dont have to run into the little guy, with the "big job" of telling us what does or does not taste good. Please, what's up with that. One last thing, we now have several great arts schools in Miami,yet I don't believe we have any that start with middle school.Good luck little guy, think you could maybe be more supportive of our children next time, after all you sure do support those on the last pages of your publication. Im just sayinng.......

• Any student who reads this would feel disrespected and discouraged. I (and I'm sure your 30 or so readers) don't care if you don't like the pizza... there is no sense in demeaning the work students put forth as artists. No one in the arts is "in it for the money"--especially students. If you need to be critical, judge the pizza... not the STUDENTS. Students are full of potential and I tell mine every single day. The last thing they need is to read a ridiculous article that cares more about a restaurant's decoration during a FUNDRAISER than the food served. I'd rather read a poem on a pizza box which sounds creative and unique than read a tiny blog shuffled amongst thousands of meaningless internet blogs. Stick to food, stay away from children.

• Had you done some more--or perhaps I should say any--research, Lee, you might have found out that those "scrawling[s]" are actually Italian sonnets and terza rima poems written about subjects ranging from the Mona Lisa to futbol. And that these very talented kids are being taught by none other than your former colleague, a 11.5 year veteran of New Times who also happens to have two masters of fine arts degrees in creative writing--not to mention published collections of poems. You might not consider writing about food an art form, but I do (especially given that I still do it for Miami Magazine as well as write cookbooks) and I believe it can take any and all forms, including poetry. Luna Corner Pizza was generous, gracious and creative enough to think outside of the pizza box and allow our students to express themselves and their talents while giving back to the community, and the administration, teachers, students and parents at Miami Arts Charter couldn't be more grateful. By the way, Miami Arts Charter students aren't the kindergarteners you make them out to sound. These middle and high school students must audition to get into this brand new school for the arts, and I guarantee that you couldn't sing as well as the least trained 6th grader in the chorus. But hey, if you're willing to pit your vibrato against any of the carolers who will be singing a capella harmony tomorrow, I'd be happy to place a personal bet. I'll donate my winnings, like I do a lot of my salary, to buy the kids more things to "scrawl" upon. • I am a pizza lover and an artist... I have tried Luna Corner Pizza a few times already, and I really like it. The price is right considering the superior quality, the taste of the dough (which is one of the best I have tried in a long time) and the size which is bigger than regular large pizzas... And I think it is great Luna Corner Pizza is helping the community and why not future artists to join and�celebrate art as the rest of the city this week... Lee, isn't what you do a form of art?, you should be more supportive.

• Nice sentiment Bob, but I have a feeling that Luna Corner Pizza chose your neighborhood because it lacked a pizza place, which means they would have that niche all to themselves and hopefully turn a neat profit.

• Luna Corner Pizza chose our neighborhood because of its historic heritage as well as its strong sense of family and community. If we do not appreciate that, lets appreciate who does. Schools like the Miami Arts Charter School groom the artists of today, and tomorrow thus what a better stage then their own back yard as their first display window to the world.

• My children go to Miami Arts Charter School and we are THRILLED a local business is taking notice of our talented kids. We've taken home pizza from Luna several times and we love it more and more.
